If the gaps between the wall and the new finishing material are very large, you need to use polyurethane foam. Polystyrene foam or expanded polystyrene is attached to the door using special glue.
Advice: In this case (taking into account the peculiarities of opening access), it is better to use polystyrene foam rather than foam - it is denser and less prone to damage.
Although, the instructions assume that this material will subsequently be sheathed with a more rigid material. Therefore, you can choose foam, especially since it is cheaper.
So:
- Before use, it must be removed from the surface of the walls. old paint, whitewash.
- After the putty or foam has dried, it is necessary to level the wall with a layer cement mortar. Only after it has completely hardened can the slopes be sanded, re-primed and painted.
- In addition to paint and cement, other materials can be used. So, for example, with the help of drywall you will carry out this activity relatively cheaply, easily and for as soon as possible.
Plasterboard sheet is the simplest and most practical material. - Particular difficulties in the process of plastering door slopes are caused by their upper part. Especially when it is necessary to build up a fairly thick layer of solution.
To avoid problems with this, you can add a little alabaster to the plaster, which will speed up the process of hardening and hardening of the solution. Thanks to this, you do not have to spend several days on this process; on the contrary, in a short period of time you will be able to throw on a slope required quantity layers of plaster. - As for finishing the side slopes, this can be done using drywall, everything is much simpler here. First you will need a special metal profile(L-shaped) that screws into concrete wall along the entire perimeter of each slope.
This is done using dowels and screws. - After all the profile elements are attached to the wall, you can attach plasterboard strips to it. The joints between the drywall can be glued with serpentine or treated with putty.
In order to cope with the task, it is necessary to accurately measure and cut the sheet into several parts of the required sizes.
Finally, they can be mounted on slopes using dowels and special glue ( liquid nails) or polyurethane foam. It is also used to fill openings and corners between gypsum boards and the opening.
Once they are attached, you can begin the final painting of the drywall.
Other materials for finishing the inner surface of the entrance door
The simplest and cheapest type of decorating door slopes is plastering. The surface of the side, upper and lower slopes is leveled with a layer of plaster, after which they are ready for further finishing, or you can simply whitewash or paint them.
Although plastic is widely used for window slopes, as a material for installing doors and further finishing doorways, it has not gained the same popularity. As a rule, plastic trim slopes are carried out only during installation interior doors made of plastic.
In other cases, this material does not particularly harmonize with the door and interior decoration one room or another.
