We cannot imagine the full operation of a computer without a keyboard, because it is one of the main components of a PC. If the keyboard is broken, you need to find the source of the damage.

Why does the keyboard not work on an HP, Lenovo and other laptop?

Software glitch
You shouldn't go to a repair shop if your laptop keyboard doesn't work. Perhaps the keyboard is simply not activated in the laptop settings, so the laptop does not recognize it. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  • You need to go to “Device Manager”, then click on the “Keyboard” tab. You will need to see if it is activated or not. If not, then correct this nuance.
  • Rebooting may also help solve the problem.

Viruses
One of the reasons may be the presence of viruses in the laptop. If you installed an application, and then your keyboard stopped working, then you should conduct a deep scan with your antivirus to find all malicious files. Then move the viruses to quarantine or completely remove them and restart the computer. The keyboard should work.

Drivers
We often encounter the problem that the keyboard on a laptop does not work, and the reason is outdated drivers. This is the simplest case that every user can handle. You need to update the driver and restart the computer and the keyboard will work again.
Physical problems.

This problem is very serious as it can cover a wide range of causes. The problem may be that the contacts are dirty, which prevents the plug from contacting the computer, or buttons and microcircuits may be damaged, which will only need to be changed at diagnostic centers. Broken contacts may also be the cause. If the user was not careful and pulled the cord, then the contact and socket may well be damaged.

How to determine why the keyboard stopped working?

There are three easiest ways to check this! Let's look at each in detail.

Check contacts
Perhaps they just walked away from the computer. Especially if you have a pet, it could get caught in the cord. This is the most common case of the problem. Just plug the plug in harder and everything should work. If it doesn’t help, then try pulling the cord out and putting it back in, as the computer may malfunction. If this does not help, then move on to the second reason, which will help resolve this issue.

Scan your computer for viruses
Try checking your PC for malware. Use only licensed versions of antiviruses, such as Kaspersky, Avast, Doctor Web. They can definitely help in getting rid of viruses. Carry out a deep clean of the entire computer, after which all viruses should be quarantined and removed. After restarting the computer, the keyboard should work. But viruses are not always to blame.

Every driver sooner or later becomes outdated, which means it requires updating. You can update the driver in two ways: download a new one from the Internet, which will be convenient for users who have an Internet connection.

The second method is to install the driver from the disk that came with the computer when purchased. The driver installs like a normal game and then requires a restart of the computer. The keyboard should work. Follow the following advice, it is useful for every PC user: download DriverPack Solution or DriverDoc from the Internet. These programs will be able to automatically install drivers for you when you connect to the Internet. To check for drivers on your computer, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the start menu.
  2. Right-click on the “Computer” tab.
  3. Go to the “Management” tab, which is protected by administrative rights of the computer.
  4. Go to Device Manager.
  5. Click on the "Keyboard" tab, then right-click on the keyboard.
  6. Click LMB on “Update Driver”. Using these programs, it will automatically update to the latest version.

After this, the keyboard should work. Repeat this action once every one to two months.

What to do if the keyboard does not work on a computer with Windows 10?

In this case, there are two main problems that may cause the keyboard to not work.

  1. This is a problem in the Windows 10 operating system itself.
  2. Problem associated with defects in your computer or laptop.

Without a keyboard, you are unlikely to be able to do anything, so use the on-screen option temporarily. Go to Settings, go to Accessibility and select the Keyboard tab. Move the circle in the “On-Screen Keyboard” so that the “ON” light turns on.

Check the plugs and connectors carefully, they may have been damaged. Try connecting the USB plug to another port, which is located at the back of the computer, this may be the problem.

The cable on the laptop may be damaged, so do not try to fix the damage yourself. It is better to take the laptop to a service center where specialists can look at it.

OS configuration
In order for you to finally find out the problem is in the computer or keyboard, you need to go into the BIOS, since it does not interact with the operating system in any way, but is involved with the motherboard. If everything works in your BIOS, then the problem is already in the operating system itself. If the keyboard and mouse do not work already during the installation of Windows, then the problem is in Windows 10, not the devices. And if the keyboard does not respond in the program, then there is a problem either in it or in the computer itself. To be sure, you can ask your friends for a keyboard so you can try it for yourself. To resolve this issue try:

  1. Restart the BIOS several times.
  2. Go to the “Control Panel”, then to “Troubleshoot Windows” (in particular the “Keyboard” or “Device Hardware” item). In Device Manager, remove the keyboard). In the “action” menu, click on the “Update computer configuration” icon. Everything should work.
  3. Make sure that you have the Num Lock key turned on when entering your password. This can be determined by the indicator on the keyboard (If it lights up, then the key is turned on).

Clean from dirt/dust
Perhaps the sockets into which the plugs are plugged are simply clogged with dust, therefore preventing the contacts from interacting. To do this, simply disassemble the computer, preferably using soft brushes. You can use a vacuum cleaner that has a blowing function. In most cases this method is very effective. Don’t try to pick out the dirt with something; take a special wet wipe, which is sold in any computer store. Use it to remove dirt.
What to do if the keyboard does not work in assassins creed origins?

Many people have encountered the problem that the keyboard has stopped working. There are two options. The first is to try to launch the game not through a shortcut on the desktop, but through the main folder with the game. Restarting the game won't hurt either, because there are times when it helps. The second option is to close the Discord program as it is interfering with the keyboard's functionality. Computer power has nothing to do with it. Of course, it is possible that the problem is with the game files, and if you have recently deleted something, be sure to double-check.

Wireless keyboard and mouse not working

If your wireless keyboard does not work, first check the battery and replace it if necessary. Do the same operation with the mouse. But if after this the keyboard and mouse do not work and you are sure that the battery has a full charge, then find the working devices and go to the control panel, go to “Devices and Printers”. Next, right-click and click “Connect device”, or confirm the action. Don't forget to restart your computer.

First of all, check the plug in the socket to see if the keyboard is connected correctly. If the computer is outdated, then the BIOS version will be old, which is why the device may not recognize USB devices. Go to the “USB Keyboard Support” section and look at the inscription. If it says “Disabled”, then the device is disabled, change it to “Enabled” and everything will be connected.

If you have several PCs in the house, then try the keyboard on another computer in the BIOS program. If it works, then the problem is in your computer. Some programmers remove the battery from the motherboard for a few minutes, then the BIOS is reset to factory settings, but this is not recommended for an inexperienced PC user.

What to do if the buttons on the keyboard do not work?

Try to carefully remove the buttons and clean them of debris, as they may not work for this very reason. The keyboard buttons are connected by thin microcircuits that can be easily damaged. Viruses are unlikely to do any harm here, so if after cleaning nothing helps, it is better to replace the keyboard. There is an option to try a different keyboard on your computer. If it works, then the problem is in your previous device. The same can be said about the number buttons. Try to be more careful when disassembling the keyboard.
If all else fails, but you need to print the text urgently.

If this happens, use the on-screen keyboard. Go to the “Computer” menu, then go to “Local Disk C”, then go to the “Windows” folder, select “System 32/64”, depending on your computer and open the “osk” file. This will be the on-screen keyboard. You can type with the mouse.

Keyboard testing programs

We bring to your attention a number of programs that test your keyboard for functionality.

  • Key-Test;
  • Keyboard-Test.

These programs will easily help you determine whether your keyboard is working or not. Applications are publicly available, you can download them from the Internet. Installation will take you no more than three minutes.

Probably, each of us has encountered a similar situation: you turn on the computer, try to enter text on the keyboard or switch from one window to another, but the keys do not respond to pressing, and the device itself does not show any signs of life. What causes this behavior of the device? Why doesn't the keyboard on my computer or laptop work? And how to fix it? Let's consider what the reasons may be.

This is actually extremely awkward compared to others as it requires an excess of finger movement. Another standard is Dvorak. In addition, there are two other standards created for those who only need to enter one hand. Now check out some keyboards that might make you spend hours admiring the store window.

They usually have additional features over regular keyboards. You'll notice in the photo that there's also a mouse on the back of the touchpad-style peripheral. Anyone looking for practicality will want to have it. The keyboard below looks strange, but it makes the eyes of many gamers and graphics players sparkle because their keys are fully customizable not only in the function of the keys, but also in the position they occupy. You can literally put the keys wherever you want and assign them any function.

Mechanical damage

The simplest explanation is mechanical damage to the keyboard. Perhaps you recently spilled coffee or sweet tea on it, accidentally dropped it, pulled the wire, etc., and then conveniently forgot about it. In this case, all you have to do is disassemble the device and try to fix it yourself, or contact a service center. The second option is preferable, especially when it comes to a laptop keyboard. If you cannot bring the keyboard back to life, you will have to purchase a new input device.

Do your friends watch what you type and call you a “photographer”? It has both wired and wireless options and is available in Brazil. But it doesn't stop there, as the keys can be customized to display symbols for tools, commands, programs, or even images you've taken. Maybe in Portuguese we could have a keyboard that would better suit our needs and cause less pain in the hands of those who use the equipment for long hours on end?

Why hasn't a single keyboard manufacturer in Brazil proposed changing the standard to make life easier for users until today? With so much success in software interfaces, to make it easier for the user because the keyboard is stopped in time?

Lost contact

Sometimes keyboard problems are caused by improper connection of the device to the computer. Check whether the plug fits tightly into the socket on the system unit and whether the fragile parts of the connector are bent. If necessary, carefully straighten them with tweezers and try connecting the keyboard again.

If you use a wireless keyboard, it's worth checking to see if its battery is dead. Very often the problem disappears without a trace as soon as the power source is replaced.

Feel free to give your answers and explain your theories using the feedback system. If your keyboard is no longer working, there are a few things you can check to resolve the issue. Depending on your situation, you can try one of the following options: First, you should identify two important factors in this troubleshooting solution.

Your keyboard no longer works

The problem occurred while typing, or you noticed it immediately after starting your computer. Apart from an extreme situation such as spilling water on the keyboard, the answer to this question is important in identifying the problem. If you notice that your keyboard has stopped working after downloading or, check your connection to your keyboard and make sure it is locked properly. You can reboot again.

No corresponding driver

Why does the keyboard on the computer not work if the contact is not broken and the device itself is not damaged?

Perhaps the system simply cannot find the driver for the device. In this case, you need to update your computer software.

You can do this manually by visiting the website of your keyboard manufacturer.

What keyboard are you using?

Turn off your desktop computer and check if it is working. Also check the batteries, it may be time to change them. Wireless receivers have a signal scan button, press the button to transmit the signal and the light should start flashing. Once this happens, find the key on your keyboard to receive the signal sent by the receiver and flow with each other.

In some ways, these keyboards are more reliable because there are no drivers to install from the operating system. If it stops working while using the operating system, in most cases the problem is not caused by the keyboard. Check if your mouse is moving slowly? Do the same for each application that is not responding. You can also try this for any type of keyboard.

  • Be patient and wait until the operating system finishes.
  • On the Application tab, select all and click End Task.
  • A confirmation window will appear asking you to stop it.
  • Click "End Task" again and wait for it to complete.
To determine the status of your keyboard, you can follow the last step.

Manual driver update

  • go to the official website of the manufacturer;
  • find the appropriate section, select your device model;
  • download the archive and unpack it. Sometimes the driver has its own automatic installer, in which case you will just need to click “Run file”;
  • if there is no automatic program, launch “Device Manager”;
  • select “Update drivers”, in the dialog that opens, select manual search, enter the path to the folder in which you unpacked the archive;
  • After installation, reboot the computer.

There is another way to update drivers. It is often recommended on thematic forums when a participant does not know why the keyboard does not work on a Windows 7 computer or other OS. You won't have to look for manufacturers' websites, but you will need to install additional programs to update drivers. For example, Driver Genius Professional or Driver Checker. These utilities are paid, but if you wish, you can find a replacement for them among free software (DriverMax Free, etc.).

If your keyboard no longer works, but you have a good second known keyboard with the same connection type, replace the correct keyboard with the incorrect one and see if it works. You can also try connecting the incorrect keyboard to another computer and determine if the keyboard is broken.

Troubleshooting Wireless Keyboards

If some keys on your keyboard work but not all, follow the steps below as appropriate for your situation. The eject button mechanism starts after a short delay to avoid accidental use. Press and hold until the eject icon appears on the screen.

Viruses attacked

Sometimes input devices are blocked by malware. If you don’t know why the keyboard on your laptop or computer, and along with it the touchpad and mouse, don’t work, then the problem is most likely due to a virus infection of the system. What to do in this case?

and how can I fix it? Forgot your computer password? Don't worry - in our article you will find information on how to restore it.

Check your system with an antivirus as soon as possible. If the antivirus did not detect a potential threat or is simply disabled, use additional utilities. The Dr.Web CureIt! program is very effective in such situations. You can download this anti-virus utility on the official website of the Dr.Web laboratory. The program is free for treating home computers. The most important advantage of the utility is its high reliability: the program will work even if a virus tries to turn off the computer during the scanning process and block it.

Common problems with keyboard customization software

You may have configured a setting that changes the behavior of the keys. If the "Speak selected text when you press a key" option is activated, deactivate it or click "Change" to select a different key. If it is activated, you must hold the keys longer than usual for the action. In the Accessibility area, click Mouse and Trackpad. Make sure "Enable Mouse Keys" is turned off. If enabled, pressing the number buttons moves the pointer rather than the number. In the Keyboard panel, select Input Methods. Make sure the correct keyboard type is selected.

Problems with keyboard functionality such as calculator, sound or brightness settings

  • In the Accessibility area, click Speech on the Left.
  • Make sure the "Enable slow keys" option is disabled.
To get the latest version, click.

You can also recommend the development of Kaspersky studio, AVZ. Like Dr.Web CureIt!, the program is free. Updated regularly. It has several settings options, which allows you to most effectively identify not only viruses and spyware, but also possible system vulnerabilities. Quickly eliminates “computer infection” and gives many useful recommendations.

Identify your keyboard in this list or search in the search bar. Once you have identified your keyboard, tap or click on it to go to the download page. During installation, you may need to restart your computer one or more times. If you log in as a member of a guest group during the installation process, an error may occur.

Some computer manufacturers come with preinstalled keyboard customization software tailored to the keyboard that came with your computer.

  • Unplug your keyboard, then plug it back in.
  • If you are using a wireless keyboard, check your wireless connection.
If your device is supported, try the following.

The keyboard is simply not connected in the BIOS

Finally, the last reason for the “lifelessness” of the device is the lack of connection in the BIOS. This case is typical for netbooks and laptops, i.e. devices with a built-in keyboard. How to fix the situation?

Very simple. Turn off the computer, then turn it on again. Before the operating system starts loading, we load the BIOS. Typically you will need to click the Delete button to do this, but there may be other options. Sometimes the BIOS is activated by pressing the F2 or F8 keys (depending on the computer manufacturer). The hint at the bottom of the screen (if there is one) can help you determine which button to press.

Try the following tips. Some key commands require the installation of a specific program, such as an email program, web browser, media player, instant messaging program, or graphics editing program. Shortcut keys may not work as expected if you press a modifier key at the same time. If the correct program is not installed, you can still use the key by reassigning it.

If you have two wireless receivers connected to your computer and you press the same key on the wireless keyboard, double characters may appear on the screen. Some keys are designed to repeat when pressed and held. The following buttons can be repeated: previous, next, previous track, next track, volume, volume, zoom, zoom.

Then we find a tab in the BIOS that lists all input/output devices. Select the item called “USB Controller” and set the mode to “Enabled”. Go to the “USB Keyboard Setup” item and repeat the operation, setting the mode to “Enabled”. Then we confirm saving the changes and exit the BIOS. Reboot and test the keyboard.

Where are the standard function keys?

These keys are located on the top row of the keyboard. On some keyboard models they are tactile.

"Print" button. the screen doesn't work

If you hold down the Gadgets key, all open windows will be transparent, allowing you to see the gadgets on your desktop. In other versions or themes, when you press or hold the Gadgets button, you view the desktop. "Print" button. screen copies the screen image to the clipboard. . On some keyboards, the My Favorites keys are secondary.

Sometimes the BIOS does not support USB keyboards. In this case, it is better to entrust the computer setup to professionals from the service center, since it is necessary to reinstall the BIOS. Doing this on your own is quite difficult.

There can be only two exact reasons for this malfunction:

The standby key puts the computer into power management mode only if the computer supports power management and power management is enabled. If it is not activated, this button does not work. It cannot be reassigned. You can resume work by doing one of the following:

  • Press the wait key.
  • Press the standard key on your keyboard.
  • Move the mouse.
  • Quickly press the power button on your computer.
If you can't wake up your computer using one of these methods, you may have a system problem. See the documentation that came with your computer, or contact your computer manufacturer. To exit sleep mode, press the power button on your computer. Once installed, most browsers can be installed as default. You may have to manually reassign the Home key to the browser you have installed. Click the button you want to reassign the wizard to, click Open a program, web page, or file, click Unassigned, enter the path to your internet browser or click Browse to find it, and then click Back to save changes.
  • Then click it again.
  • Restart your computer and press the Home key.
The Mail Key Reassignment Wizard contains a list of supported email programs installed on your computer.
  • hardware (in the case when the device itself or the port to which it was connected failed);
  • software (failure to load the required driver).

If the keyboard fails, then there are only 2 ways: replace it with a working one or repair it.

  1. To begin with, of course, you can try restarting your computer. It is possible that after a reboot it will work again.
  2. If rebooting does not help, then you can use the keyboard with the mouse (it should function fine).

What to do if the computer keyboard and mouse do not work?

Why doesn't the keyboard and mouse work on my laptop? - This is another, fairly common malfunction, which happens quite often in the event of an unexpected failure in a south bridge laptop.

Very often the south bridge burns out in such a way that absolutely everything in the computer works except these above-mentioned devices.

But sometimes it happens that the laptop stops turning on altogether, or stops responding to the power button, precisely when the same south bridge in it burns out.

➤ This is cool: You still don’t know - it’s simple.

Probably, each of us has encountered a similar situation: you turned on the computer, are trying to enter text on the keyboard or switch from one window to another, but the keys do not respond to pressing...

If your computer keyboard is not working, then you have come to the right place. Here you will find step-by-step instructions to solve such problems. There can be many reasons for such a problem, and the solution to them is also quite large. First you need to understand exactly when this problem occurs and what it is connected with. Typically, the keyboard may kick up when the operating system is loading, when entering a password, or during operation when entering text. The first malfunction depends on the type of keyboard, and the second on the mechanical effects on it.

Why your keyboard needs to be cleaned periodically

I want to say right away that if you do not part with the keyboard even during meals, then choose a time, turn it off, and give it a good look.

Sticky keys and incomprehensible keyboard operation most often occur among those people who like to chew something while working at the computer, or, even better, drink beer or sparkling water.

If your keyboard is not wrapped in protective film, then all the crumbs and liquid from the bubbling drink will be inside it. You don't have to spill drinks on your keyboard. It is enough to place a glass with a bubbling drink next to it, and all these bubbles will settle on the keyboard, and even get inside it.

And if you like to chew seeds or nuts, then your keyboard probably has enough crumbs to feed a hamster a good lunch. Don't believe me?! Then take the keyboard in your hands, turn it over, and shake it over the table.

What to do if it doesn't workUSB-keyboard

Check the keyboard connection. If it is wired, then the wiring inside the cord could have broken, either at the base or at the USB connector.

If the keyboard is wireless, check the batteries inside the keyboard and the USB transmitter connected to the computer or laptop.

It happens that it is the transmitter or the USB connector where it is connected that is faulty. If the problem is in the USB connector, then connect the transmitter to another connector.

Let's check the keyboard connection settings inBIOS:

  1. Enter the BIOS settings (read how to do this in the article);
  2. We look for the USB Keyboard Support or Legacy USB item there (this depends on the BIOS version) and switch Disabled to Enable.

You may not be able to enter the BIOS settings with a USB keyboard. Then you need to find a keyboard with an old PS/2 connector or find an adapter for the old connector.

What to do if the keyboard does not work according to the protocolPS/2

Finding a keyboard with a PS/2 connector in a store is not so easy, but some still use it and sometimes it can also fail.

In order for the keyboard to work again, you need to reinstall its driver:

  1. Right-click on the Start menu button and select “Device Manager” from the drop-down list.
  2. Find the keyboard in the list of devices and expand the list. Usually, if there is some problem with a device, there will be a yellow circle with an exclamation or question mark next to that device. Right-click on “Keyboard HD” and select “Uninstall”. Confirm your action and close Device Manager.

Just because you use a USB-connected keyboard doesn't mean it can't fail at some point. No matter how cool and expensive it is, even such a keyboard can fail. By the way, I don't know about you, but I think that PS/2 keyboards are less vulnerable. True, if your keyboard on your laptop is covered, then you can either choose , or .

There can be quite a lot of problems with USB keyboards failing. For example, damage to the wire, port, drivers and much more. Naturally, we will try to deal with this problem.

  • Non-working USB port

If, when connected to one of the ports, the keyboard does not respond at all, then try connecting to another. Although, it happens that the port works when you connect another device. Perhaps this is some kind of glitch. Also, the port may not work due to a large voltage surge on the motherboard.

If, when you connect the keyboard to all USB ports, it does not work, then try connecting other devices to them. If they do not work, then the problem is in the USB ports of the computer.

You can also try connecting the keyboard not to USB 3.0 (indicated in blue), but to USB 2.0. And try installing or updating the drivers for the motherboard.

  • Keyboard wire pulled out

Well, I think that we are not so inattentive that we would not notice the pulled out wire. In any case, even if it doesn't come out, pull it out, wait a couple of seconds and put it back in again.

  • Installing drivers

After finding out that the keyboard does not work through any port, we try, if everything works fine there, tabs switch smoothly, then the problem is present precisely at the operating system level. It is possible that the problem is with the drivers.

Try it for your keyboard. This can be done through the device manager. You can enter it if you enter it in the search "Device Manager", or press Win+X and select the desired item.

Opening the manager window, look for the section "Keyboards", open it and right-click on the item, then click "Delete".

After this, restart your computer. Next, reinsert the keyboard into any port, the drivers should be installed automatically.

Some manufacturers provide special drivers that can be downloaded from the official website. Keep this in mind. And if there was also a driver disk with the keyboard, then use it.

  • USB controller disabled in BIOS

If the motherboard fails, the USB controller may be disabled in the BIOS, which is why the keyboard may not work. In some motherboard models, this function is disabled initially. Then, to work with the BIOS, you will need a PS/2 keyboard in any case.

So, we enter the BIOS and look for the USB controller parameters. On different motherboards this item may be called differently, for example, "Legacy USB Support" or "Keyboard Support". In some versions of the BIOS it may be called "Legacy Support". Now look, if the value is “Disabled”, then change it to “Enabled”. There should be another parameter nearby "USB Controller", it must also be in the Enabled position. After this, exit the BIOS and save the settings.

  • The keyboard is faulty

This point is the very last and this is understandable. If nothing works, the keyboard does not respond to any actions, then most likely it is broken. If it does not work on other computers, then there are definitely no options, then the keyboard is not working.

That's all, I hope that these instructions have helped you in some way. If anything, write in the comments, we’ll sort it out.

Do you press some letters on the keyboard of your laptop or computer, but completely different ones appear on the screen? Don't worry, it's easy to fix. If The keyboard is printing the wrong letters and symbols, there may be several reasons. I will tell you about each of them and options for solving the problem below.

Reason #1: An additional keyboard is included, which is activated by the Fn key.

If you are using a laptop. Most likely the reason is the FN key pressed, press Fn+Ins(Insert) and try typing. In some cases, Fn+Num Lock should help.

As I said above, pressing the Fn key activates additional symbols bound to the buttons. They are usually labeled in a different color and painted on the buttons in the corner.

If you are sure that your keyboard does not have an Fn button, just read on. There are a few more ways below.

Reason #2: Sticky keys are enabled.

Windows has a “Sticky Keys” mechanism, which is activated if you press one button or several buttons many times in a row. Very often cats turn on this mode for us by walking on the keyboard or lying on it.

Disabling Sticky Keys is simple:

  1. Go to the Start menu
  2. Find "Settings"
  3. Here is the "Control Panel"
  4. Next "Accessibility" or "Ease of Access Center"
  5. Look for "Typing keyboard shortcuts one at a time" or "Sticky keys"
  6. Find the “Enable Sticky Keys” checkbox and uncheck it.

Reason #3: Crumbs in the keyboard or other debris.

Everything is simple here, look visually at the keyboard if crumbs or other debris are visible between the buttons. Turn the keyboard over and gently shake until all or most of the crumbs fall out from under the buttons, then check if it helps. Repeat until all buttons are operational.

Reason #4: Problems with regional settings.

Check in the menu:

    1. Start
    2. Settings
    3. Control Panel
    4. Region and Language
    5. Here the “Languages” tab and click “More details”
    6. Then check what keyboards you have, they should be Russian and English (USA).

Please note that next to the word Russian there are no additions: Mashinny, Ukraine, Belarus, etc. If you had the wrong layout, then delete it and click on the “Add language” or “Add keyboard layout” button. Then choose the correct Russian, without postscripts.

Choosing the correct Russian layout

If both keyboards were correct, try pressing each letter in the English layout and see if the letters and symbols are pressed correctly and match what you press. If yes, please check your computer for viruses and once again, just in case, make sure that the correct Russian layout is added. It would be a good idea to remove it and add it again just in case. If on the English layout there are still discrepancies between what you press and what appears on the screen, then you have a problem with the keyboard itself and it needs to be replaced. This often happens due to liquid getting on the keyboard.

THANK YOU so much for the very useful information in the article. Everything is presented very clearly. It feels like a lot of work has been done to analyze the operation of the eBay store

    • Thank you and other regular readers of my blog. Without you, I would not have been motivated enough to dedicate much time to maintaining this site. My brain is structured this way: I like to dig deep, systematize scattered data, try things that no one has done before or looked at from this angle. It’s a pity that our compatriots have no time for shopping on eBay because of the crisis in Russia. They buy from Aliexpress from China, since goods there are much cheaper (often at the expense of quality). But online auctions eBay, Amazon, ETSY will easily give the Chinese a head start in the range of branded items, vintage items, handmade items and various ethnic goods.

What is valuable in your articles is your personal attitude and analysis of the topic. Don't give up this blog, I come here often. There should be a lot of us like that. Email me I recently received an email with an offer that they would teach me how to trade on Amazon and eBay. And I remembered your detailed articles about these trades. area I re-read everything again and concluded that the courses are a scam. I haven't bought anything on eBay yet. I am not from Russia, but from Kazakhstan (Almaty). But we also don’t need any extra expenses yet. I wish you good luck and stay safe in Asia.

  • It’s also nice that eBay’s attempts to Russify the interface for users from Russia and the CIS countries have begun to bear fruit. After all, the overwhelming majority of citizens of the countries of the former USSR do not have strong knowledge of foreign languages. No more than 5% of the population speak English. There are more among young people. Therefore, at least the interface is in Russian - this is a big help for online shopping on this trading platform. eBay did not follow the path of its Chinese counterpart Aliexpress, where a machine (very clumsy and incomprehensible, sometimes causing laughter) translation of product descriptions is performed. I hope that at a more advanced stage of development of artificial intelligence, high-quality machine translation from any language to any in a matter of seconds will become a reality. So far we have this (the profile of one of the sellers on eBay with a Russian interface, but an English description):
