HMD Global, which was specially created to revive the Finnish brand, did not immediately fire all guns. It often happens that the first to appear is the flagship model, which holds its chest up and declares its readiness to dethrone the iPhone or Samsung Galaxy S. Let us remember, for example, which stalled even before the first device reached a potential buyer.

HMD Global acted smarter, calmly throwing three inexpensive smartphones onto the market with not very expressive characteristics - at the same time testing the willingness of buyers to respond to the name and counting on at least some sales. . The thing, frankly speaking, is more than controversial, but it fulfilled its role perfectly - everyone started talking about the “return of the legend.” Against the backdrop of these conversations, it is possible to slowly expand the sales of smartphones.

The three presented models fall in the price range from 10 to 16 thousand rubles - the most popular among buyers. All three smartphones are similar, they have a common design (which is good), but the characteristics are not outstanding compared to Chinese competitors. However, they are not failures either. Today we will talk in more detail about the eldest of this trinity, Nokia 6.

The smartphone is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 platform, equipped with 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of flash memory, a 5.5-inch LCD display with Full HD resolution, and a fingerprint scanner. The main feature of the smartphone (besides the two “Nokia” inscriptions - on the front panel and the back cover) is the latest “pure” Android version (7.1.1 Nougat) with the promised fastest updates. Nokia, that is, HMD, claims to be working very closely with Google.

⇡ Appearance, ergonomics and software

While many companies are struggling trying to make smartphones different from another “black rectangle”, Nokia decided to go against the grain, making its devices deliberately simple in design: without a curved back panel, frameless screen and other tricks. But at the same time, the “six” is not at all devoid of breed.

For a smartphone costing 16 thousand rubles, Nokia 6 is excellently executed - while the front panel completely covered with glass will not surprise anyone, then the edges and back cover made of brushed metal have not yet become things for granted for the budget segment. The most pleasant detail is the two frames of polished, unpainted metal around the perimeter. The smartphone is a pleasure to use and the build quality is excellent.

Nokia 6, front panel: above the screen - earpiece and front camera, below the screen - three navigation keys, a fingerprint scanner is built into the central one

But Nokia 6 is a large smartphone. It does not stand out in this regard compared to its direct competitors with displays of the same diagonal (,), but this is perhaps the only good news. It is not easy to operate with one hand - there are wide frames around the screen, and the body is quite thick (but not slippery). I will also note that the Home key is located too low - in order to touch it with your thumb, you need to bend it at an unnatural angle. It is advisable to do this while holding the smartphone with your second hand, otherwise it won’t take long for you to drop it. An additional inconvenience is that this key has a fingerprint scanner built into it, so you will have to touch it every time you want to do something with your smartphone. It's inconvenient; placing the sensor on the back cover would look more appropriate.

There are five color options for Nokia 6: black, silver, indigo, copper and glossy Arte Black (with b O larger amount of RAM and non-volatile memory, more expensive and not yet officially sold in Russia). There are fingerprints on the back cover in the matte version, but I wouldn’t say that in particularly critical quantities - nothing bad happens, this is not Honor 9. Everything is fine with the front panel too - there is an oleophobic coating, and it’s quite effective.

Nokia 6, top edge: 3.5 mm mini-jack for headset/headphones and plastic insert for better signal reception

The appearance of Nokia 6 is strict and attractive, the smartphone fits nicely in the hand. Everything is simple and tasteful - an all-metal body with rounded corners, almost the entire front panel is covered with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3.

The device turned out to be rather large: its dimensions are 154 × 75.8 × 8 mm, and its weight is 170 grams. If you compare it with, it turns out that Nokia’s brainchild is larger and heavier, although the screen diagonals of the smartphones are the same.

The front panel in all versions of the device is black. It has a special laminating coating with good oleophobic properties. Thanks to this, it not only resists various stains well, but is also pleasant to the touch. At the top of the panel there is a speaker and a front camera. On the bottom there is a fingerprint sensor, which also serves as the Home button. On either side of it are the “Back” and “Recent Applications” keys. When the smartphone is activated, they light up.

On the back of the device there is a camera and an LED flash. They are located on a kind of podium, which protrudes from the body by almost a millimeter. They are also covered with protective glass, but how long it can resist scratches is unknown. During testing, no scratches appeared on it, but it easily collects fingerprints. An additional microphone is located just above the main camera. You can also note the plastic inserts for the antennas at the top and bottom of the panel, similar to those of the .

The layout of the remaining controls and ports is quite typical: on top there is a headphone jack, on the bottom there is a microphone, a microUSB port and a music speaker, on the left side there is a hybrid slot for SIM and memory cards, on the right there is a volume rocker and a power button.

Nokia 6 comes in several colors: black, copper, silver and indigo. A special version of Arte Black is also available in a laminated glass case.

Screen - 4.4

Nokia 6 has an excellent screen, comparable in quality to those of our leaders. Of course, it does not have any flagship features, such as 3D-Touch or 4K resolution, but this was not expected from it.

The display diagonal is 5.5 inches and the resolution is 1920x1080 pixels, resulting in a density of 401 ppi. The image clarity is high; individual dots can only be seen with a magnifying glass. The color gamut width covers the entire sRGB space and 83% of AdobeRGB. Brightness and contrast measurements showed the following: the maximum display luminance is 440 nits, the minimum is 2 nits, with a contrast of 860:1. The numbers are quite good, the brightness range allows you to use the device equally comfortably in any lighting. The white temperature at the default settings is too high, which is why the image turns out cold and also reduces color accuracy. However, if you turn on a special blue filter or set the color temperature to “Warm” mode, you can achieve a significant increase in color accuracy. In this case, the white temperature drops to values close to the reference ones. Additionally, there is a “Cold” mode, however, in our opinion, it is not suitable for use, since there is too much blue color. It is equipped with a display of comparable picture quality, although it has fewer image settings.

There were no complaints about the viewing angles - the image remains unchanged when viewed from any angle.

Cameras - 3.5

The smartphone is equipped with good cameras of 16 and 8 MP. They allow you to take high-quality images not only in daylight, but also, in some cases, at night.

The main camera is represented by a module with an f/2.0 aperture and a pixel size of 1 micron. There is phase detection autofocus and LED flash. The camera interface is simple, ascetic and convenient. You won't find any entertainment modes or filters for editing selfies. The corresponding icons on the main camera screen allow you to control the shooting delay, flash and HDR shooting. Opposite the shutter button is a switch for Panorama, Beautify and Photo modes. Manual settings are opened by clicking on the menu button in the lower left corner (or lower right, depending on the orientation). You can set the focusing method, focusing distance, lighting conditions, and exposure.

In daylight, the image quality is high, with good brightness and contrast. Color rendition is quite fair, colors are not oversaturated. Night photography is a little worse for the camera; noise appears and sharpness drops. This is where the HDR mode can come to the rescue, improving the elaboration of midtones and shadows. However, it has a strange feature: it makes colors more saturated, which can cause the photo to turn out too bright. This, in turn, complicates its use in daylight. Autofocus performance is flawless and there are practically no errors.

Video recording is possible at a resolution of up to 1920×1080 pixels and 30 fps, while sound is recorded at a bitrate of 96 kilobits per second. The video quality is good, the color rendition is natural.

The front camera also has an f/2.0 aperture, but its pixels are slightly larger at 1.12 microns. It, like the main one, has autofocus. The quality of the pictures is high, the color rendition is natural. Autofocus errors are rare, although more common than with the main camera. Video recording is possible in FullHD resolution.

Working with text - 5.0

Typing text on the Nokia 6 is comfortable and easy. The pre-installed Gboard keyboard has a large number of settings: continuous typing, synchronization of the user dictionary between devices, support for themes and the ability to search Google directly from the input line.

Internet - 5.0

The combination of the large screen of Nokia 6 and the popular Google Chrome browser makes browsing the web convenient. The functionality of the browser is quite extensive: synchronization of bookmarks with, traffic compression, “Incognito” mode for anonymously visiting sites, and much more.

Communications - 3.8

Nokia 6 received a good set of communications and ports. The only thing missing is an infrared port, but this is rather a nitpick. According to the official website, it claims to have NFC, but the copy we tested did not have this functionality. Like many other smartphones, the hero of our review has a hybrid connector for SIM cards and memory cards. It is possible to install two nanoSIM, or nanoSIM+microSD.

The list of ports and communications is as follows:

  • Wi-Fi Dual Band with Wi-Fi Direct support
  • Bluetooth 4.1LE
  • FM radio
  • USB On-The-Go
  • GPS with A-GPS support, GLONASS
  • accelerometer
  • compass.

Multimedia - 5.0

The smartphone is well suited for various multimedia entertainment. This is facilitated not only by a high-quality screen and good battery life, but also by the software component.

The built-in video player plays most popular video formats, including proprietary formats like DTS and AC-3, although not in every combination. The video player settings are quite sparse: there is a blocker against accidental clicks and the ability to display video in a small window on top of other running applications. It is also possible to select the font for subtitles, which is not usually found in embedded video players.

The audio player is endowed with extensive functionality: there is convenient sorting of the music collection, the ability to create your own playlists and loop a song fragment. To customize the sound, there is a Dolby Atmos application, which includes various ambient sound modes and a graphic equalizer.

The quality of the sound path is above average, there is a small volume reserve, so Nokia 6 can handle most.

The smartphone plays call melodies in stereo: the conversational speaker comes to the aid of the music speaker. They differ somewhat in quality and volume, so this cannot be called full-fledged stereo, although some presence effect is still achieved. The ringing volume is high - 82 dB, which is louder than the operation of a powerful one.

Performance - 3.4

The performance of the Nokia 6 is not great, especially considering its price. It is enough for everyday tasks, but in games it is better to set the graphics settings to minimum.

The smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, which has eight cores with an operating frequency of up to 1.4 GHz. The device has 3 GB of RAM (4 GB for Arte Black), and the Adreno 505 accelerator is responsible for graphics. Testing showed the following results:

  • Geekbench 4 (processor test) - 2,912 points (almost parity with);
  • Ice Storm Unlimited from 3DMark (graphics) - 9,541 points (a couple thousand less than );
  • AnTuTu 6 (mixed test) - 47,279 points (almost half that of).

The system interface works smoothly, without slowdowns or hesitation. There is enough RAM to run several applications and quickly switch between them. Asphalt Extreme is quite comfortable to play with low settings, but Injustice 2 is frankly lacking in dynamics. At the same time, the device practically does not heat up even with prolonged use; the all-metal back dissipates heat perfectly. The maximum temperature we managed to reach was 36 degrees, warm, but it would not cause discomfort.

Battery - 3.7

The autonomy of Nokia 6 is quite high, although not record-breaking. The device will confidently last a full working day with active use.

The capacity of the smartphone's non-removable battery is typical by modern standards - 3000 mAh. Unfortunately, there are no fast charging functions provided. The included charger charges the battery from 5 to 100% in two and a half hours.

When testing various use cases, we obtained the following results:

  • Video playback at full screen brightness - 10 hours non-stop. Reducing the brightness to a comfortable 200 nits adds another hour to this time.
  • Listen to music with wired headphones at a comfortable volume level and with the screen off - 66 hours without interruptions.
  • Conversations on 3G networks - 22 hours.

The performance is good, especially considering the battery capacity. With moderate use, the smartphone will last a full two days.

Memory - 4.5

Nokia 6 has a good amount of internal memory - 32 GB in the regular version and 64 GB in the Arte Black. This is enough for installing a large number of custom applications and infrequent photography. If you need more memory, you can install a microSD memory card up to 256 GB. True, you will again have to choose between installing two SIMs and expanding the memory.

We tested a version with 32 GB of internal memory, of which about 20 GB is available to the user.

Peculiarities

Nokia 6 runs on clean, cosmetic changes - only some application icons, rendered in the signature blue color. The manufacturer has added several of its own programs, but there is no “junk” in the system.

Interesting features include gesture and motion control. So, you can enlarge the image with a triple tap on the screen, and swiping with two fingers controls the scrolling. The device also responds to movements, automatically muting the call melody when you take it in your hand, and in order to reset the call, just turn the smartphone screen down.

Nokia 6 marks the return to the market of the once leading manufacturer of mobile devices in the world. The company lost its leading position with the beginning of the smartphone era, initially refusing to use the Android OS in favor of its own Symbian operating system, and later, after moving under the wing of Windows, it failed with the Windows Mobile platform.

Nokia now belongs to the HMD Global brand, founded by former employees of the Finnish company, who see China as their main target market. That is why Nokia 6, designed to resurrect the cult brand, is so far sold exclusively in the Middle Kingdom. But the manufacturer is already promising a European version, similar to the one we received for review. Let's figure out how successful the new product turned out to be and whether it can compete with popular smartphones in its price segment and which others can please us.

Price and main characteristics

Nokia 6 went on sale at the official price of $255, but due to the increased excitement, all Internet sites (Aliexpress, JD.com) raised the price to $300-330, which will not drop until the first month or two of deliveries of the device.

Nokia 6 specifications

  • display: 5.5”, IPS LCD Full HD 1920*1080 px;
  • processor: Snapdragon 430 (1.4 GHz) + Adreno 505 video accelerator;
  • RAM: 4 GB;
  • internal memory: 64 GB + micro SD memory cards up to 128 GB;
  • camera: main – 16 MP, front – 8 MP;
  • communication: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, LTE;
  • battery: 3000 mAh.

At the first glance at the characteristics of the gadget, the question involuntarily arises: what is there to pay $250 for? Indeed, smartphones from Xiaomi, ZTE, Le Eco and Meizu with similar technical characteristics are much cheaper, around 150 bucks. However, let's not draw hasty conclusions.

Equipment and appearance

Nokia 6 comes in a fairly large cardboard box, on the front of which there is an image of clasped hands and the Nokia logo. The box is durable, the cardboard is thick - there is no need to worry about damage to the packaging when delivering from China.

The smartphone comes with:

  • Micro-USB cable;
  • charging adapter (5V, 2A);
  • wired headset;
  • clip;
  • documentation.

The device was presented well, opening the packaging and the many bags containing each of the accessories is really pleasant.

The design of Nokia 6 is a strong point of the smartphone; the gadget is made really well. It is made in a black all-metal case with almost invisible plastic inserts for the antennas. The metal surface is matte, has a tactilely pleasant rough finish, does not slip in the hand and does not collect fingerprints.

The camera block protrudes slightly beyond the surface of the housing cover, which raises concerns about the safety of the optics. Nokia does not say what kind of glass the camera module is covered with; if it is not sapphire glass, you should expect scratches to appear on the camera during use.

The glass on the front side of the case is made using 2.5D technology; it is a tempered, impact-resistant material called Corning Gorilla Glass 3, resistant to scratches and mechanical stress. Under the screen there are touch navigation buttons, there is a backlight, but their layout is somewhat non-standard: return is on the left, on the right is calling running applications. The central Home button is combined with a fingerprint scanner; it works stably, but does not break performance records.

Above the display is the company logo, front camera, earpiece and notification indicator.

The side frame is made of aluminum; it protrudes slightly beyond the boundaries of the main surfaces, which does not impair the ergonomics of the smartphone. The arrangement of functional elements on the side frame of the smartphone is standard: on the left there is a hybrid slot for 2 Nano and Micro-SIM cards or one SIM card and Micro-SD (up to 128 GB).

On the right is a mechanical volume rocker and a screen lock key. The button travel is smooth, with good feedback.

At the bottom there is a Micro-USB 2.0 port, a hole for the main speaker and a second microphone for noise reduction.

On top is a 3.5 mm headphone output.

Overall, the Nokia 6 build is excellent. When you hold a smartphone in your hand, you feel like you are holding a flagship device, and not just another mid-price gadget, similar to thousands of similar devices.

Screen

Nokia 6 is equipped with a 5.5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1920*1080 pixels and a pixel density of 403 ppi. The display is made using inCell technology, there is no air gap. The screen is good in all respects; it has correct color reproduction, high contrast and sufficient brightness for comfortable use of the smartphone in the sun. Automatic brightness adjustment also works adequately.

The display is covered with Gorilla Glass 3, which did not show a single scratch during several days of testing. The oleophobic coating is good, the screen collects fingerprints in small quantities and can be wiped off without any problems.

Performance

The greatest public outrage after the presentation of the new product was caused by the performance of Nokia 6, which is seriously inferior to competitive solutions in its price segment. Of course, the smartphone does not pretend to be a gaming smartphone, but for people who are indifferent to gaming, its power is enough.

Thus, the 8-core Snapdragon 430 (1.4 GHz, 64 Bits) ensures fast and smooth operation of the interface, Internet scrolling and the operation of any applications, and you can play all games on your smartphone, even the most demanding ones, just not at maximum graphics settings .

Now to the positives. Memory – there is as much as 4 GB of RAM, which allows the smartphone not to experience problems with performance and keeping running applications in the cache, built-in memory 64 GB (52 GB available out of the box), it is possible to expand the storage with cards up to 128 GB. The characteristics are sensible and balanced for comfortable everyday use of the phone.

Camera

We liked the Nokia 6 camera. The main 16 MP module with an f/2.0 aperture and a pixel size of 1 micron produces images with excellent detail and sharpness, the dynamic range of the matrix is wide - overexposure is extremely rare even in bright sun. The only complaint is about color rendering, sometimes the picture turns out to be too faded and low-contrast, but these are already software problems and, most likely, they will be resolved with the release of a firmware update.

The quality sags only when shooting in poor lighting, you can feel the lack of optical stabilization and the aperture of the optics is not the highest, but the image does not turn into a noisy soap and the quality remains quite acceptable.

The camera can record video in FHD 60fps format, digital stabilization works very well here, and autofocus performance when recording video can be called one of the fastest on the market. In general, in terms of photo capabilities, Nokia 6 does not disappoint and receives a well-deserved 4+.

Speaker, sound quality

The device is equipped with high-quality stereo speakers with a total power of 8 db, the volume of which is controlled by paired TFA-9891 sound amplifiers. The sound of the smartphone is really cool - there is no metallic color to the sound, there are noticeable low frequencies. It’s nice to listen to music and watch movies from your phone, and thanks to the large volume reserve, incoming signals and notifications can be heard even in noisy places.

The sound in the Nokia 6 headphones is good, but not outstanding. The audio path of the Snapdragon 430 processor produces clear sound with adequate frequency range, which allows you to achieve good results when using high-quality headphones. And thanks to the presence of a dedicated amplifier, the smartphone is able to drive any equipment - from in-ear headphones to professional closed-type headphones.

Battery

The Nokia 6 has a 3000 mAh non-removable battery. At first glance, this is a very modest indicator, but in practice, the smartphone confidently survives the working day. Not the most powerful hardware and adequate screen resolution have an effect. The smartphone supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology; fast charging from zero to maximum takes no more than 60 minutes. Charging using a standard adapter takes 100-110 minutes.

Communication and Internet

The Chinese version of Nokia 6 supports most common GSM, WCDMA and CDMA bands. The smartphone works without problems with all domestic operators and reliably picks up communication signals, 3G and LTE Internet. For wireless interfaces, everything is standard - Wi-Fi at 2.4 5 GHz, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and Baidu navigation.

What is not encouraging is the use of outdated USB 2.0 instead of USB Type-C. To connect external drives and peripherals to your smartphone, you will have to additionally use an OTG adapter.

Video review of Nokia 6

Competitors, conclusion

Nokia 6 is a good smartphone, but it would be even better if it cost $150-200. We can state a fact – the price of the gadget is clearly too high, however, as we see, this does not prevent it from being sold successfully. According to the manufacturer, the first batch of 1 million smartphones was sold in one minute.

Many people were waiting for the return of Nokia and, by and large, got what they wanted - a well-made device with an interesting design, a cool camera and performance that can fully satisfy the needs of the average user.

Add to this the strength and reliability of the gadget (the description of the above video is unnecessary - Nokia 6 is going through something after which not every secure phone will work), the presence of the latest Android 7.0, as well as a potentially large community of owners in which many custom firmware will appear. As a result, we have a cool device, the only serious drawback of which is the price.

A couple of weeks ago in China, which became the first modern mobile device under this brand running on the Android operating system. The demand for the new product has turned out to be that even now, almost a month after the start of sales, it is incredibly difficult to find this device on sale.

The first thing that catches your eye is the large colorful packaging in the best traditions of Nokia. It’s nice that twenty-year traditions are maintained now, even despite such a difficult time for the Finnish brand. Inside the package you can find a special clip for opening the SIM card tray, a proprietary microUSB cable, inexpensive headphones, a power adapter designed to charge the Nokia 6 from the mains, the smartphone itself and several paper instructions in Chinese.

Let's take a look at the technical characteristics of the Nokia 6 smartphone. The device is equipped with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels (FullHD), an eight-core Snapdragon 430 processor with a clock frequency of 1.4 GHz, an Adreno 505 graphics accelerator, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB flash drive, battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh, 16 MP main camera with dual LED flash, 8 MP front camera with support for video recording in 1080p resolution, slot for installing two SIM cards, LTE 4G modem, as well as A-GPS and GLONASS.

The Nokia 6 smartphone has a black all-metal body. Thanks to the incredibly high-quality and reliable assembly, the mobile device does not creak or play in any way, as often happened before with phones under this brand. The solidity of the entire structure is reflected.

The rear camera with LED flash protrudes slightly from the body, but only by 1 mm. This does not affect practical use in any way. Thanks to the rounded edges of the case, the Nokia 6 smartphone fits perfectly in the hand. The back cover has a slightly rough texture that is less prone to fingerprints and prevents the device from slipping in your hands.

On the bottom of the case there is a microUSB port for charging a smartphone, as well as a speaker. Most likely, Nokia engineers decided not to take another risk by installing the new USB Type-C, limiting themselves to the standard of an earlier generation. This solution can be called reasonable, because all modern people have a huge amount of peripherals for microUSB, which are incompatible with USB Type-C without a special adapter, which does not have the most compact dimensions.

On the front part there is a protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with lateral rounding using 2.5D technology. Yes, yes, because of it, it will not be possible to stick a protective film or glass on the entire screen, but the manufacturing companies of modern smartphones are not at all interested in this. They are willing to sacrifice practicality for the sake of a more modern appearance. Directly below the screen there are three touch buttons, two of which are side and backlit, and the main one stands out stylishly against the background of all the glass.

To sum up the body, we can say that the build quality of the Nokia 6 is at an incredibly high level. Not all smartphones with a price tag of 15,000 rubles can boast such solidity and stylish appearance. It is also pleasing that the Nokia logo was not “sculpted” on the front of the device, as Samsung likes to do.

When you turn on Nokia 6, the animation familiar to users of mobile devices under this brand immediately appears on the screen, accompanied by a pleasant sound effect. Nokia fans will be delighted! Then the initial setup process familiar to all Android devices begins. Unfortunately, since all modifications of Nokia 6 are intended for sale exclusively in China, there is no Russian language in this mobile device yet. In the future, most likely, enthusiasts will release their own firmware with support for all languages of the world, but this will happen only after some time, so Nokia 6 testing had to be carried out in English.

The entire Nokia branded shell on a smartphone running Android 7.0 Nougat has a blue theme. All standard applications, already pre-installed on the mobile device, are made in the same style. There is no particular point in talking about the functions of the Android operating system that are already familiar to everyone, so let’s immediately move on to more interesting facts about Nokia 6.

After using the Nokia proprietary shell for some time, I had an irresistible desire to replace it with something else. Yes, it works stably and quite quickly, but its appearance does not create a pleasant impression. Everything looks somehow too boring and gloomy, as if Nokia saved money on the staff of designers. Such a shell could be installed on some Chinese smartphone for $100, but it is incredibly far from the Nokia brand. Of course, the device is intended for residents of China, but do people there have different taste preferences?

Since the screen is built on an IPS LCD matrix, the viewing angles of Nokia 6 are incredibly high. At maximum screen brightness, the image is perfectly visible from any angle, and the loss in color rendition is extremely small. It is also worth noting that when bright light sources shine on the screen, the screen copes well with glare, while leaving the information readable. It would probably be reasonable to say that the screen in the Nokia 6 is similar to that of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in terms of color reproduction and contrast, but it still falls short of the flagship iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in color depth.

The sound volume is approximately on the same level as all other smartphones, however, when directly compared with the iPhone 6s Plus, you notice that the sound on the Nokia 6 is less rich and clear, but it is almost impossible to notice the difference in the sound of the speakers at maximum volume without direct comparison.

The most interesting thing, of course, is to learn about both cameras of the Nokia 6 smartphone, which seem to have high resolution. Yes, they are really capable of taking good photos and recording good videos, but this smartphone is far from the same Xiaomi Mi5, which today costs even less.

The Chinese Xiaomi Mi5 has much better color reproduction and image clarity in the front and rear cameras, but Nokia surpasses it in autofocus speed. It would be fair and honest to say that the front and rear cameras in the Nokia 6 are on par with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, so we wouldn’t expect anything extraordinary from them. The Nokia 6 smartphone is definitely not a camera phone, so it is definitely not suitable for lovers of high-quality photographs and clear selfie shots.

An elongated fingerprint scanner is built into the Home touch button. It works, but not as well as we would like. Yes, in most cases it copes with its task, but its speed leaves much to be desired. If your surveillance hands are wet, then in 30% of cases the fingerprint recognition will be incorrect. This is really annoying...

We will not say anything about autonomy without practical tests. During testing of the device, about 3 hours, the device was discharged from 100% to 38%. This is a good result, especially considering that the Nokia 6 was practically not out of hand all this time, testing its software and enjoying its truly attractive appearance.

Conclusion

The Nokia 6 smartphone is the first mobile device from this manufacturer running the Android operating system. The device has an incredibly good and high-quality build, but its internal components do not evoke the required level of admiration.

The software represented by the Nokia shell for Android is clearly very flawed, since it has extremely poor functionality and a primitive appearance. Unfortunately, the technical equipment of the Nokia 6 also let us down a lot. Apart from 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of built-in flash memory, this mobile device has nothing else to boast of, since manufacturers offer much more powerful devices for much more affordable money.

The Nokia 6 smartphone is sold in China for about $250 (14,500 rubles), but the same Xiaomi Mi5 can be bought in Russia for exactly the same amount of money. The Nokia 6 camera is at the same level as the iPhone 5s, although the Apple product has an 8 MP main camera and a 1.2 MP front camera. All these numbers in Nokia 6 only attract the attention of buyers, but there is nothing behind them.

As a result, the first mobile device under the Nokia brand based on the Android Nougat operating system showed mixed results. The company has proven that it is capable of providing high build quality, but the hardware and software clearly let us down. In our opinion, the cost of the Nokia 6 smartphone should be $150, that is, about 9,000 rubles. If Nokia 6 cost exactly that much, then it could be forgiven for all the shortcomings that it has.

We would not recommend buying Nokia 6, since for $250 it doesn’t even have Russian, which again causes huge inconvenience. In fact, only those who want to overpay for the Nokia brand, or those who are extremely poorly versed in mobile devices and trust the words of well-known corporations, can buy this smartphone.

Buy Nokia 6 at a low price it is possible .

Now everyone has the opportunity of the next generation Xiaomi Mi Band 5.

    THANK YOU so much for the very useful information in the article. Everything is presented very clearly. It feels like a lot of work has been done to analyze the operation of the eBay store

    • Thank you and other regular readers of my blog. Without you, I would not have been motivated enough to dedicate much time to maintaining this site. My brain is structured this way: I like to dig deep, systematize scattered data, try things that no one has done before or looked at from this angle. It’s a pity that our compatriots have no time for shopping on eBay because of the crisis in Russia. They buy from Aliexpress from China, since goods there are much cheaper (often at the expense of quality). But online auctions eBay, Amazon, ETSY will easily give the Chinese a head start in the range of branded items, vintage items, handmade items and various ethnic goods.

        What is valuable in your articles is your personal attitude and analysis of the topic. Don't give up this blog, I come here often. There should be a lot of us like that. Email me I recently received an email with an offer to teach me how to trade on Amazon and eBay. And I remembered your detailed articles about these trades. area I re-read everything again and concluded that the courses are a scam. I haven't bought anything on eBay yet. I am not from Russia, but from Kazakhstan (Almaty). But we also don’t need any extra expenses yet. I wish you good luck and stay safe in Asia.

  • It’s also nice that eBay’s attempts to Russify the interface for users from Russia and the CIS countries have begun to bear fruit. After all, the overwhelming majority of citizens of the countries of the former USSR do not have strong knowledge of foreign languages. No more than 5% of the population speak English. There are more among young people. Therefore, at least the interface is in Russian - this is a big help for online shopping on this trading platform. eBay did not follow the path of its Chinese counterpart Aliexpress, where a machine (very clumsy and incomprehensible, sometimes causing laughter) translation of product descriptions is performed. I hope that at a more advanced stage of development of artificial intelligence, high-quality machine translation from any language to any in a matter of seconds will become a reality. So far we have this (the profile of one of the sellers on eBay with a Russian interface, but an English description):
