Door with veneer
Painting wooden doors that have a layer of veneer yourself is very similar to painting an ordinary wooden door.
However, you need to remember one exception. Quite often, the veneer at the bottom of such doors may partially peel off during use. Therefore, to begin with, it should be very carefully, without breaking, separated from the entire surface of the door, then coat the underside of the veneer and the door leaf with a special glue intended for wood, and clamp it well with clamps. You can also lay pieces of plywood or boards on top to ensure that the veneer fits evenly and tightly. These operations must be performed with the door removed and laid horizontally.
When the glue is completely dry, you can begin painting the door, for which it is best to use Pinotex wood-protective and tinting compounds.
In order to obtain the required color, it is necessary to paint the door leaf several times, but remember that each subsequent layer of paint can be applied only after the previous one has dried.
The paint can be applied with a roller or brush. In order to give the surface of the door shine, it is necessary to cover it with a layer of varnish.
Wooden door made of bars
The painting process will be slightly different if you need to process the door from the bars yourself. Such doors should not only be painted, but also be covered with two or three layers of varnish, sanding each layer of varnish before applying the previous one. This technology will help you end up with an even layer of varnish, despite the fact that the door itself was a little spotty, as it was assembled from separate bars that have different porosity and, as a result, different absorbency of the paint composition.
