Everyone strives to create in an apartment comfortable conditions Therefore, air conditioners are often installed that cool (heat) the air and create a favorable temperature in the room. But it’s one thing to install, and another thing to remember that the air conditioner requires maintenance and cleaning.

When is it time to clean your air conditioner?

It's time to clean the air conditioner if, when you turn on the device:

  • the nose detects strangers unpleasant odors;
  • strange sounds are heard;
  • power drops;
  • energy consumption increases.

Before carrying out any work, the air conditioner must be disconnected from the power supply.

How to clean the external unit of the air conditioner?

If a large amount of dust or natural debris—feather or poplar fluff—accumulates on the external unit, then not only the power of the air conditioner decreases and energy consumption increases, but the device also begins to overheat. Therefore, the body must be cleaned.

There are several cleaning methods external unit air conditioner:

  • One of the most common cleaning methods is a regular brush, which is used to carefully sweep away debris. Of course, this method is ineffective, but it is the simplest and most accessible.
  • Some people clean the body with vehicles. They dissolve contaminants quite quickly and have proven themselves really well.
  • The most powerful method is high pressure cleaning, which is used by specialists:

How often should it be washed? It depends on what height it is mounted at. Owners living on low floors (1–4) need to wash them before each use of the device during the season. But for the residents upper floors(7–8), where there is already little dust and pollution in the air, can be cleaned once every 2-3 years. Above the 10th floor, almost no pollution is observed, so you can think about washing the outer casing of the air conditioner once every 3-4 years.

Cleaning the indoor unit of the air conditioner

The indoor unit must be washed regularly and more often than the outdoor unit. Some units need to be cleaned once every 2 weeks, others less often, depending on how quickly they become dirty and what task they perform.

Filters

The main task of internal filters is air filtration, dust retention and various contaminants. They are the ones who make the air cleaner, so they need regular cleaning. Air conditioner manufacturers recommend cleaning them once every 2 weeks. Despite the simple operation, many people forget about it, and as a result - foreign odors in the room or the split system is broken.

Cleaning algorithm:

  1. Remove the cover of the indoor unit.
  2. Carefully remove the filter.
  3. Place it in a container with soapy water for 3 minutes.
  4. Then rinse under running warm water.
  5. Dry naturally. They cannot be exposed to hot air.
  6. Installed in place.

The filter is a fragile part. Therefore, it is prohibited to use it for washing. hot water, abrasives, solvents and bleaches. They can cause deformation and damage to the part.

There are two types of filters - mesh and pocket. If the first type can be washed and dried repeatedly, then pocket ones have an expiration date. If over time the air conditioner begins to work worse even after the cleaning procedure, then it is time to replace the cassette filter.

Rotary turbine

When washing filters regularly, clean them once a year in the fall or when they become dirty. How to proceed:

  1. Open the cover of the indoor unit and remove the filter.
  2. Apply to all blades soap solution, using a brush with long bristles.
  3. Leave for 5 minutes. Cellophane is placed under the diffuser grille and the turbine is turned on. All dirt and debris from the rotor is blown onto the floor.
  4. Clean the parts again from any remaining dirt.
  5. Return the filter to its place and close the lid.

Evaporator grille

It is a system of tubes in which freon evaporates.

If during cleaning you notice rust on metal parts, contact the service center immediately.

Cleaning is carried out in the following sequence:

  1. Open the cover of the split system.
  2. Remove the front grille that covers the heat exchanger.
  3. Take a soft brush from long handle and a vacuum cleaner.
  4. Using a brush, carefully remove dust and dirt and collect with a vacuum cleaner with a narrow nozzle.

Drainage

Stagnation in the drainage system provokes the development of mold. And clogging of the pipes with dirt and fatty deposits leads to breakdown of the split system. Therefore, periodically wash the drain pan from dirt and excess moisture. After all, mold easily and quickly spreads along the walls and plates of the radiator and can become a source of musty odor.

The drainage system is cleaned depending on the degree of contamination different ways:

  • At slight contamination they just wash it clean water or add soap or dishwashing detergent. Through the heat exchanger, the liquid itself enters the drainage.
  • If there is a blockage or dirt has deposited inside the tube, then the drainage is disconnected for flushing. The pipeline is blown out with a vacuum cleaner, thereby removing the blockage and clearing it of accumulated dirt.
  • For heavy contamination use the most labor-intensive, but very effective method- parsing the block. To do this, the air conditioner will have to be completely disassembled in parts. The pipeline is pulled out, blown out and washed along its entire length, cleaning all bends and loops.

When the split system is completely washed and put in order, the final stage is antibacterial cleaning. It removes foreign odors, eliminates germs, fungi and mold. To do this, turn on the air conditioner maximum power, the mode is cooling, and a spray for cleaning air conditioners is sprayed inside.

Air conditioner cleaning products

For washing air conditioners there are special means. They are presented on store shelves wide range. These are mainly aerosols and foam in cans. They are used to clean the heat exchanger and drainage system.

Aerosols and sprays

How to clean:

  1. The air conditioner is turned on at low power.
  2. Spray the aerosol through the holes onto the heat exchanger.
  3. Wait 10-15 minutes while the cleaner works.
  4. Ventilate and dry the device in ventilation mode (see also what modes there are in an air conditioner).

Some products must be additionally rinsed off the heat exchanger; the manufacturer must indicate this on the packaging.

Minus funds: They are used up quickly - on average they are enough for 2 cleanings, and when heavy pollution they do not always cope with the task at hand.

Foam

Foam is more often used to clean only the heat exchanger. How to clean:

  1. Shake the container well.
  2. Spray evenly onto the heat exchanger.
  3. After a while, it turns into liquid and, along with contaminants, goes into the drainage system.
  4. After cleaning, turn on the ventilation for drying.

Video: Disassembling and cleaning the air conditioner

Air conditioner maintenance - cleaning filters and other elements of the indoor unit - will be discussed in the following video:

Whatever cleaning method is chosen, the filters and external unit can be washed without fear on our own. For deep washing internal system it is better to call professionals, since any, even the most insignificant violation, can lead to improper operation of the system or to its breakdown.

In contact with

If you want your air conditioner to always be clean, but don't want to pay for its maintenance, then this article is for you! Today we’ll talk about how to clean the air conditioner yourself.

But I want to warn you right away. Our portal was created to help, and not to harm, ordinary users. That is why, once again, I still recommend that you contact specialists to clean your air conditioner.

Today there are a huge variety of types of split systems, many of which have a special design. Even for experienced professionals, disassembling some air conditioners can be a lot of trouble. Well, for those who are confident in their abilities and whose arms grow from their shoulders, we continue.

For any split system, there are two types of cleaning:

  • regular cleaning, which is produced by the user himself. This service consists only of . The user must carry out such cleaning twice a month (recommendation of air conditioner manufacturers). From own experience in about 80% of cases, people completely forget about the existence of such filters. Well, in general, you need to look at the operating conditions of the system. If the air conditioner is installed in a roadside store and is constantly running, then it will become dirty more often. If the air conditioner is working in a residential area apartment on a high floor, then do not forget wash the filters at least once or twice a season;
  • major cleaning. Many manufacturers recommend performing this type of maintenance annually. But again, depending on the operating conditions, the frequency of such maintenance varies. The advice here is this - either immediately after installation, ask the guys about the cleaning time frame, or approximately After a year of operation, invite a specialist at least FOR INSPECTION of the condition (some companies do this for free).

When the air conditioner definitely needs a major cleaning (this is already an extreme stage):

  • when water flows from the indoor unit, which indicates a serious blockage of the drainage system;
  • when the air conditioner takes a very long time to reach the desired temperature or does not reach it at all. By this point, something may have broken down and will likely require further repairs.

How to clean your air conditioner yourself

Most modern air conditioners consist of two units, each of which requires periodic cleaning. The greatest difficulty in this matter comes from indoor unit split systems, since high-quality cleaning of parts will require it complete disassembly. It’s easier with an external unit - only the radiator is washed in it; in most cases, you can only get by by removing the grille in front of the fan.

Before you start cleaning, you need to disconnect the air conditioner from the power supply (pull out the plug from the socket or turn off the machine to the air conditioner).

To wash your air conditioner at home we will need:

  • Phillips screwdriver (for unscrewing all screws);
  • container with water;
  • small household brush and rag;
  • stepladder or chair (for free access to the block).

Disassembling the indoor unit of a split system.

  1. We remove the housing, making sure that the air conditioner is turned off from the network. To do this, unscrew several screws at the bottom under the blinds (they may be located under the plugs). Next, open the front cover where the filters are located (we immediately remove the filters). Under the cover there are usually more screws that we also unscrew (or there may be clips that we snap off).

We slightly lift the bottom of the case and watch how its upper clips snap off. At this point you will probably need to disconnect it from the case temperature sensor, the display wire or the display itself.

2. Now you need to disconnect and remove the drainage tray from the bottom of the unit. In order not to spoil the interior under the block, it is better to glue something like a bag (in which all dirt from the block will be washed away). All the screws that secure the tray are unscrewed and all the clips are snapped off. Here, carefully study how it is installed, so that later you can put it exactly in its place.

On drainage tray Motors are usually screwed on, the wires of which need to be disconnected from the board. Then carefully remove the tray by disconnecting drain hose From him. On some models (for example, Samsung) the hose is screwed on. For some models, this tray is non-separable and is made together with the body (naturally, in this case we do not remove the tray, since this is impossible).

  • if the shaft is removed to the left (there is a screw on the shaft as in the article about), then we free the left side of the radiator. Then we pull out the shaft by unscrewing the fastening bolt inside it;

  • If the shaft is removed to the right, you will need to remove its motor and the air conditioner control unit. The control unit housing is usually secured with one screw at the bottom and a latch at the top. Then disconnect the motor wires from the control board.

We unscrew all the screws that secure the motor casing.

Having slightly lifted the radiator, we pull out the shaft together with the motor to the right (this is quite difficult to do, so we act extremely carefully without damaging the shaft).

Washing the indoor unit of a split system

After this, we assemble the indoor unit in the reverse order.

Washing the external unit

As I already said, it is much easier to wash the external unit, because... There is usually no need to disassemble it. And you only need to wash the radiator in it. To access it, it is better to unscrew the grille in front of the fan. For some models, in order to unscrew this grille you will have to disassemble the entire body (in this case, you can try to wash it without removing the grille). If you have a sink high pressure(Kärcher, for example), then carefully rinse it with a wide stream away from the radiator (so as not to bend the ribs). If there is no sink, then we clean it manually with a brush (again ALONG the ribs).

This completes the entire process of cleaning the air conditioner.

Today I talked about the most common block design. But there are models of air conditioners, the disassembly of which may differ significantly from our version. In this case, be careful and don’t break anything! As we can see, cleaning the air conditioner at home is quite possible and you can get by with improvised means. The main thing in this whole process is accuracy, attentiveness and that unnecessary details there are none left!

There is a lot of information, articles and videos on this issue on the Internet; we will try to summarize with you a little and look from the technical side at the process of cleaning and servicing a split system (air conditioner) both with our own hands and when calling specialists.

To begin with, I would like to answer a question that worries everyone and everything.

How often should you clean your air conditioner? There is no definite answer; it depends on the operating conditions and habitat. Air conditioning in an apartment is one thing, and air conditioning in a Bar, Cafe or Food Unit is another thing. Let's assume that we have a normal household air conditioner in an apartment, standard power 7-12 kbti.

We answer: The air conditioner needs to be cleaned and maintained annually!

What is proper air conditioner cleaning?

The second question is what is meant by cleaning the split system (air conditioner). Cleaning the filters of the indoor unit can also be called cleaning, but such “cleaning” is of little use. Cleaning an air conditioner (split system) is, first of all, cleaning the heat exchangers (evaporator and condenser) of the indoor and outdoor units, cleaning the fan, cleaning the squirrel wheel, cleaning the drainage system.

How to properly clean split system filters?

Cleaning split system filters should be taken by default; filters must be cleaned every two to three weeks. This sweet girl will show you how to do it correctly.

Well, how to clean the split so that it can be of real use?

It is difficult to do this without a steam cleaner and a high-pressure washer, but you can get by with improvised means; it is advisable to do such cleaning before each summer season. I found it very good video On the Internet, how to properly clean the indoor unit of a split system yourself, look:

What is the difference between cleaning and servicing an air conditioner (split)?

Maintenance is carried out by specialists using a steam cleaner and washing, which in principle you can do yourself, but the key difference between maintenance and cleaning of the split system is that specialists measure the freon pressure in the system and, if necessary, refuel required quantity freon so that the split cools at an acceptable level. Diagnostics of electrical and installation connections is carried out automatically. In other words, cleaning the split system is part of the work on servicing air conditioners. I found a decent video, good guys, they explain everything in detail, watch it:

After watching these videos and reading the article, I think you all have become a little clearer about what kind of animal “cleaning air conditioners” is and “what they eat it with.” And you will decide what to do, clean your split yourself, or call specialists. But I would like to summarize all of the above:

1) You can clean the air conditioner filters yourself every 2-3 weeks

2) Cleaning of the indoor unit (condenser, squirrel wheel, drainage) must be carried out monthly on your own or by calling specialists

3) Maintenance(comprehensive cleaning of the internal and external units, refilling with freon) must be carried out once every two to three years calling the specialists

Numbers and prices

The average cost of cleaning a split system in Krasnodar is 1300-1500 rubles per season. This includes cleaning the indoor and outdoor units of the air conditioner, with disassembly. With a steam cleaner and a sink, sometimes just with a steam cleaner. IN good services, during the high season there is usually a queue of at least 2-3 days. There may be more, but depending on your luck.

The annual loss of freon (microcracks and microleaks) set by the manufacturer is 5-7%.

Refilling with freon, if necessary, is not included in the cost of cleaning, and can cost 500-1000 rubles additionally, depending on the amount of freon.

Every homeowner who has installed an air cooler knows about the need for periodic maintenance and cleaning of air conditioners. For this purpose, there are various service departments that send specialists with a set of necessary equipment and detergents that get the job done for your money.

Meanwhile, prevention can be done independently and completely free of charge, not counting the cost of the cleaner. How to clean a split system at home will be discussed in this material.

Everyone who uses regular fan, probably noticed how quickly its blades become covered with a layer of dust, even if it is often done in the house wet cleaning. It is during cleaning, when wiping off dust, that its accumulation on the fan impeller is noticeable. It’s not difficult to imagine what the internal unit of a split system looks like after six months of operation, but it happens that the device is not opened for years. After all, the turbine installed in it constantly drives room air through itself.

Extreme pollution is characterized by a musty odor coming from the air cooler, as well as reduced performance and increased energy consumption. The smell is formed due to fungi and mold that successfully develop inside the unit. Thanks to a large number dirt and moisture are created there for them favorable conditions. In order not to let things get to this point, experts recommend preventative cleaning of filter elements at least once a month.

If the room has thick carpets, a lot upholstered furniture and other objects that attract dust, then the filters should be washed once every 2 weeks. Complete prevention of split systems with thorough washing of all elements is needed twice a season - at the beginning and approximately in the middle of summer.

How to disassemble the indoor unit of a split system

To wash the internal parts, you cannot do without disassembling the unit. The procedure can be performed in two ways:

  • partial disassembly;
  • complete disassembly with removal of the fan impeller.

Both methods do not require dismantling the unit from the wall and breaking the main pipelines with freon. Disassembling and cleaning a split system at home in one way or another will require approximately the same amount of time, since in the first case you need to work hard to wash the fan turbine in place, and in the second it will take the same amount of time to remove it.

To carry out the work, you should prepare a set of screwdrivers and hexagons, a long-haired brush, a vacuum cleaner, plastic film and cleaning agent. It is best to purchase one from aerosol can, it is more convenient to apply it to any surface. The film should be slipped under the lower edge of the air conditioner so that it hangs down to the floor, protecting your wallpaper from water and dirt.

Before starting work, observing safety rules, you should disconnect the unit from electrical network. Then the front cover is opened and removed from the clamps, followed by the filter elements. You should immediately take them to the bathroom, cover them with cleaning agent and leave them to sour. Next, unscrewing several screws, carefully remove the entire front panel without jerking; it must also be washed from the inside.

The next step is to remove the blinds and unscrew the condensate tray. You most likely will not be able to remove the latter entirely; the condensate drain pipe will prevent this. You need to pull out its left edge and move it to the side, as shown in the photo below. This completes the partial disassembly of the indoor unit, and you can begin washing.

Further disassembly may present some difficulties. The turbine mount itself is simple, but access to it is difficult and in order to get to the screws, you need to perform a number of other steps. In some models, it is enough to unscrew the left side of the heat exchanger and it will be possible to remove the impeller, while in others you will need to disconnect the wires and dismantle the transformer unit, this is not always advisable.

Advice. If you are not sure about further actions When disassembling, it’s better to stop and boldly start cleaning, so you’ll spend less time and won’t break anything.

Before washing the split system, you need to use a brush and a vacuum cleaner to remove the volatile fraction of dust from internal space cooler Holding the suction hose with one hand, bring it closer to the brush, with which you carefully go over all surfaces of the heat exchanger, fan and housing. Then, in accordance with the instructions, apply an aerosol cleaner and wait for the prescribed time.

Using a brush, hand-held water sprayer or other device, thoroughly rinse off the detergent along with the dirt, first placing some container to drain the water.

Advice. You can find it on sale special kits for cleaning split systems, including a large plastic bag with water drain and hanging fixture.

The fan turbine, where the largest accumulation of dirt is located, will require considerable effort; it will have to be washed and rotated at the same time. When cleaning the split system is finished, you should rinse the filters and then give time to dry all the elements of the indoor unit. After this, you can reassemble and launch the split system.

Conclusion

There are no particular problems in cleaning the air conditioner in your home yourself. The most difficult thing here is to carefully disassemble the indoor unit, avoiding jerks, since most of the fasteners and clamps are made of plastic, which breaks easily.

How to turn on the air conditioner for heating Why does the air conditioner smell bad? How to perform antibacterial cleaning of an air conditioner How to choose a split system

Air conditioners, or split systems, are no longer a luxury; they are installed in almost every home and office. The task of the climate system is not only cooling, but also creating a microclimate in the room, purifying the air from dust present in it.

The device experiences a colossal load, moving cubic meters of air per day, while contaminants settle on all its parts. To extend the life and increase the efficiency of the air conditioner, it must be cleaned regularly. Usually special services do this, but armed necessary information, you can easily clean the air conditioner yourself.

The instructions for any air conditioner indicate that the climate system needs regular cleaning, not only outside, but also inside. To understand why you need to clean your air conditioner, you need to get a little familiar with the principle of its operation and its components.

A split system is a complex of two blocks: one is located outside the room, the other inside. The outdoor unit contains:

  • fan;
  • compressor;
  • valves regulating the movement of freon (refrigerant);
  • filter;
  • capacitor.

The internal part of the air conditioner consists of:

  • front panel;
  • drainage system (thin channels and pan);
  • radiator and heat exchanger (evaporator);
  • filters;
  • electronic control system.

The operating principle of split systems is based on the ability of freon to move heat. Modern air conditioners during operation, they not only cool the air, but also clean it (some models ionize). When air circulates, dust, moisture, animal hair, human hair and other contaminants enter the split system on both sides, which affects the operation of the device:

  • parts are damaged;
  • increase energy consumption;
  • reduce the efficiency of the air conditioner.

In humid rooms, mold may appear inside the air conditioner, the spores of which, along with dust, are carried throughout the room during operation of the device. People staying in such a room notice a deterioration in their condition, difficulty breathing, allergies, and often get sick colds. Young children suffer the most from this.

If you ignore cleaning the split system, this can lead to damage to the device and expensive repairs or replacement of the device.

That is why timely cleaning of air conditioner parts should not be neglected.

Signs of contamination

The instructions for the split system indicate the frequency with which various parts need to be cleaned. Note, this information averaged, but in fact it depends on several factors:

  • air pollution in the room;
  • frequency of use;
  • indoor humidity;
  • distance of the air conditioner to the ground (the higher it is located, the cleaner air outside).

There are several signs that indicate that the air conditioner is dirty:

  • During operation, uncharacteristic sounds are heard: crackling, gurgling;
  • an unpleasant odor appears;
  • Water is dripping from the appliance.

Another characteristic feature- the climate system clearly fails to cope with its main cooling function.

A guide for cleaning your air conditioner yourself at home

Installation companies climate systems, offer services for their maintenance, including cleaning. Calling a specialist is not cheap; in most cases, this process can be easily done independently.

Before you begin cleaning any part, you must unplug the air conditioner from the outlet and prepare cleaning and cleaning tools. disinfectants, dry cloth, brushes and brushes with soft bristles. As an antiseptic, you can use special liquids for air conditioners or accessible remedy- chlorhexidine.

The part of the fan located outside the room should be cleaned 1-2 times a year. The main part of the contamination is leaves, small branches, poplar fluff, and insects. Their presence is disturbing normal operation heat exchanger and leads to overheating and failure of the compressor. Replacing this part is expensive, so it is recommended to remove dirt from the outdoor unit before spring and fall.

The cleaning process consists of several stages:

  • removing the housing;
  • deletion major pollution manually;
  • small particles and dust can be removed with a car or regular vacuum cleaner;
  • Cleaning the fan blades with a damp cloth or sponge. The procedure must be carried out carefully so as not to damage the electrician;
  • washing the radiator plates with a stream of water from a car wash or regular water supply.

After this, all parts are wiped with a dry cloth. The block can be assembled only after the surfaces are completely dry.

If the air conditioner is installed on the second floor or higher, it is better to entrust the process of cleaning the outdoor unit to a professional team, since such work requires special equipment.

How to clean the indoor unit

The working part of the split system, located indoors, needs more frequent washing. The main part of the pollution in this block is house dust, skin particles and body fat, so the cleaning process is a little more complicated.

Before you begin, you need to turn off the system and remove the housing cover. She also needs cleansing, but this is carried out rather in for hygienic purposes, remove dirt with a soft damp cloth.

Filters

Air conditioners can be equipped with 2 types of filters:

  • mesh (flat or curved) - a regular grille with thin cells that traps dust;
  • pocket. It has several levels of cleaning; expensive models are equipped with it.

The algorithm for cleaning mesh filters is as follows:

  • dismantle the filter element (you can see how to do this in the instructions for the split system);
  • remove dust with a brush or vacuum cleaner;
  • soak the filter in warm water With detergent;
  • rinse from the shower head;
  • if there were traces of mold on the filter, treat it with an antiseptic (you can use special liquids for air conditioners or regular chlorhexidine);
  • air dry;
  • fix the filter in its original place.

Pocket filters are not cleaned, but replaced with new ones. You can buy them in specialized stores.

Cleaning the filter does not require special skills or a lot of time. This process is recommended to be carried out as contamination occurs, on average once every 2-6 weeks.

Evaporator and radiator

The air conditioner heat exchanger can only be cleaned superficially. Removal of contaminants inside them should be entrusted to a professional.

I would like to note that regular cleaning of the surface of the radiator and evaporator will significantly delay the service life. service department and will save a fair portion of the budget.

The algorithm of actions is as follows:

  • removing the housing cover, protective grille and filter elements;
  • removing dust accumulations using a small paint brush or a vacuum cleaner. The thin plates of the heat exchanger are easy to damage, so movements should be light and directed from top to bottom;
  • To remove mold and mildew, turn on the recirculation mode at the lowest temperature and spray antiseptic liquid near the radiator.
  • Reassemble the air conditioner in reverse order.

It is enough to clean the heat exchanger in the air conditioner once a year. If traces of corrosion are found during processing, you need to call specialists from service center to check and adjust the freon level or replace a part.

Drainage system

The air conditioner is responsible for removing condensate formed when cooling air. drainage system. It consists of a shallow tray and a hollow tube through which the liquid is discharged to the street.

Along with the condensation, dust, wool, and sometimes mold also form there. If you do not systematically clean the drainage system, the drainage pipe will become clogged, and the air conditioner will begin to leak and emit an unpleasant odor.

The process of cleaning the drainage system is carried out as follows:

  • removing the outer casing of the air conditioner;
  • detaching the fastenings of the pan and tube with subsequent removal of parts;
  • the bath is washed running water with detergent and fill with antiseptic (chlorhexidine can be used) for 15-30 minutes;
  • You will need a vacuum cleaner to clean the drainage channel. It is turned on to blow air and connected to the channel;
  • filling the channel with chlorhexidine for 15 minutes;
  • re-blowing.

Before installing the drainage system, it is recommended to check the quality of its cleaning. To do this, pour 1-1.5 liters of water into the pan. If there are no leaks, the drainage system is ready for use.

When performing systematic cleaning of the air conditioner, you need to pay attention to the condition of all parts, including the housing and seals. If damage is noticeable on them, you need to call specialists from the service center.

Guide self-service Split systems in the apartment can be seen in the video.

How to use air conditioner correctly?

The declared service life of climate control systems is from 7 to 12 years, provided correct use. In order for the split system to last as long as possible, you need to follow simple recommendations:

  • do not turn on the air conditioner when outside temperature below 0, if not provided by the manufacturer;
  • Clean the filters and inspect the condition of the indoor unit at least once a month;
  • If signs of malfunction appear, immediately turn off the air conditioner and call specialists;
  • follow all the rules specified in the instructions;
  • once a year (before starting active use) have a professional technical inspection systems.

Following these steps will ensure trouble-free operation of the air conditioner for a long time.

Pre-season training

In addition to regular cleaning, it is very important to properly prepare the air conditioner for active use. The traditional season for split systems is summer, but some models are also used to heat rooms in winter.

In mid-spring or early summer (depending on the region), it is recommended to do the following:

  • clean the heat exchanger in the outdoor unit;
  • check operation in all modes;
  • Replace air filters if necessary.

If the air conditioner does not have an all-season unit, it is used for heating at temperatures up to 30 degrees below zero. Late autumn or in winter, be sure to inspect all parts of the device. IN outdoor unit you can install a device for heating the compressor and a “warm” drainage system.

Air conditioners provide a normal indoor microclimate. Using air humidifiers in parallel with a split system will significantly increase the efficiency of the latter.

To improve the quality of work and extend the service life, it is necessary to carry out a preventive inspection at least once and, if necessary, clean dirty or damaged parts. You can do this yourself, but this does not eliminate the need professional service. Any air conditioner loses at least 5% of coolant per year; its deficiency affects the operation of the entire climate system.
