Among the wide variety of facade finishing materials, metal cassettes occupy a special place. They are very popular in Moscow and belong to the category of ventilated facades.
The structures look like square, rectangular or trapezoidal metal blocks, which after installation form a smooth, neat surface. What are these panels, why are they better than other materials and what are the features of their use?
Features of production and types
Essentially, metal cassettes are metal boxes that are attached to a frame. There is an air gap between them and the wall with thermal insulation. Perhaps the most difficult thing in installing these products is making the frame itself.
It must correspond to the geometry of the building and the creation of the project. Basically, fastening metal cassettes is carried out quite quickly - faster than, say, plastering.
The cladding varies according to the type of metal:
- aluminum;
- galvanized steel;
- copper.
Products can be smooth, voluminous and perforated. The difference is in decorative properties and price. They have a protective polymer coating on top. In any case, the structures are durable and easy to install. The shape and size of structures can be any, and this should be taken into account when developing a project.
Advantages
Facade panels have numerous advantages. These include:
- ease of installation and maintenance;
- fire safety;
- corrosion resistance;
- light weight;
- variety of colors;
- protection from wind and cold.
Another advantage of such cladding is that it does not deteriorate under the influence of temperature changes and precipitation. Due to its low weight, it does not load the building, unlike, for example, porcelain tiles, wood or stone. The cassettes are durable and do not require special care; they perfectly hide all the unevenness and defects of the walls. The buildings lined with them look stylish and respectable. Their color does not fade in the sun throughout their entire service life.
Mounting methods
It can be open or closed. In the first case, the fastening is carried out in such a way that the next finishing element is installed on top of the previous one. The attachment point remains on the outside of the cassette, and the clamps are painted to match and become almost invisible. With the closed type of fasteners, products are used that have one bent and one bent edge, and they overlap each other in such a way that they do not form visible joints.

The properties of metal cassettes make it possible to use them in finishing the facades of private houses, government, commercial institutions, and industrial buildings. This is a great way to protect a building from wind, cold and heat. The ventilated system prevents condensation from accumulating, and the air gap helps maintain the optimal temperature. Sound insulation is also enhanced, which is an additional plus. The use of panels of different shades provides decoration possibilities.
The façade system can be easily repaired if necessary, since damaged systems are simply replaced with others. Thus, buying metal cassettes for facade cladding means making a profitable contribution, decorating the building, extending the life of the walls and reducing heating costs.

Installation of such cassettes is carried out using an open type of fastening. This is a classic method in which, as can be seen in the figure, the fasteners remain on the outer (front) side of the cassette. Hence the name - open or visible type. With this type of fastening, the clamps are painted in the color of the metal cassette, therefore they are practically invisible, and look quite aesthetically pleasing, but not as beautiful as metal cassettes at an angle of 60°.
The fundamental difference is that during installation a closed type of fastening is used, which means that the clamps remain invisible. This is ensured by the fastening technology: the cassettes are mounted from the bottom up, according to the principle of a ladder: the top side is attached to the subsystem, it is covered by the lower edge of the next cassette, and a rustle of 10 mm and 20 mm is formed, which is determined by the project and depends on the architectural solution. Cladding with 60° metal cassettes reduces the risk of moisture penetration into the fastenings and joints. This method of fastening allows you to achieve minimal gaps between facing materials, the entire structure looks not only uniform, but also beautiful.

Facade cassettes are one of the types of building cladding. This cladding has a large number of positive aspects.

Positive and negative sides of facade cassettes
Cassettes are a fairly convenient and high-quality option for finishing the facade. Metal cassettes truly have the main undeniable advantage - they are ventilated.

However, even they have their drawbacks. The main and only disadvantage is that their price is quite high. But this is not a reason to refuse to install them. After all, metal cassettes have a long service life. Having paid once, you can forget about the problems of the facade for many decades.
In order to buy cassettes of this type, you first need to decide on the thickness, shape and quantity. The thickness of the cassettes varies from 0.7-1.5 mm.
Also, metal cassettes have different shapes - this depends on the building. For large volumes of coating, linear cassettes are used. For small objects, arbitrary shapes are used at the request of the customer.
Facade cassettes are most often made from galvanized steel, but there are also cases when production is made from another metal. Cassettes are also made of aluminum, stainless steel, and even copper.
One of the most important advantages is that you can choose absolutely any color of the façade cassette. The production of a color cassette occurs due to the fact that during production, the facade cassette is coated with a polymer with the addition of the necessary dye.
Thus, production is completely oriented to the wishes of the client.
Finishing methods
Despite the ease of installation, it has different types. Each variety is good in its own way and has various advantages.
- Open installation. The installation system occurs by screwing the panels to an already prepared frame. This type is quite simple and does not require special skills.
- Closed installation. The system works on the principle of a fastener. Each new cassette is attached to the previous one. This installation has its own directions: from top to bottom, and from left to right. This installation method requires professional handling and considerable experience.
- Wall-mounted installation. The cassettes are fastened to U-shaped mounts screwed to the wall.
Moscow is a city that does not stand still. For this reason, the main office is located in the capital of the Russian Federation. But this is not the limit. Installation of facade cassettes is carried out throughout Russia.
