Hi all! Recently my daughter asked me for a play kitchen. Having gone to the toy store, we spent a long time and persistently choosing the set we needed. The prices, of course, I can tell you, are steep. A high-quality, safe, medium-sized children's kitchen costs about 1,500 thousand. I am one hundred percent sure, given my daughter’s age, that it will not last long, just like our other toys of a similar nature. Some parts will come off or break, it’s good if they can be done, but what if not? It's a pity!

Once upon a time I saw photos of children's kitchens that mothers made for their children with their own hands from different materials: made of cardboard, old furniture, stools, etc. The other day I decided to look for ideas for such toys, and came across a master class on a kitchen for a child made from fabric. This idea seemed to me the best and most suitable for us. Firstly, it will serve her daughter for a long time, since it will be difficult to tear it, and she will not do it intentionally. Secondly, the toy kitchen takes up very little space, due to the fact that it can be folded and put away on a shelf. Thirdly, it does not require financial costs, a piece of fabric and scraps, I think, can be found in any home, and having a sewing machine is also not necessary, since manual labor No one has canceled it yet, the main thing is desire.

DIY children's kitchen for girls

Before you start sewing, you need to sketch out a rough drawing of the kitchen. It doesn't have to be like in the picture. Use your imagination and add your own details.

In order to make a kitchen for your child we need:

  1. fabric (preferably dense) - its size depends on the size of the stool
  2. scraps of fabric various colors
  3. needle, thread ( sewing machine if there is)
  4. measuring tape
  5. sticky tape
  6. ribbon or string for ties
  7. pencil
  8. scissors
  9. edge trim
  10. the chair on which we will sew

The first thing to do is measure the chair. We take measurements using a centimeter tape.

  • A – leg height
  • B – front seat width
  • C – seat length
  • D – rear seat width
  • E – back height

After taking measurements, we can cut out the main details. For the base, it is better to take a piece of thick canvas.

  • 1 detail – seat size (seat length, seat width at the back and front)
  • the second is cut taking into account the length of the seat and the height of the legs
  • the third is cut taking into account the width of the seat in front and the height of the legs
  • the fourth is cut out taking into account the width of the seat at the back and the height of the backrest; there should be two of this part in order to secure the cover to the chair.

Some of the pieces are not perfect squares, so be aware of this. Don't forget to add 1.5cm seam allowance to your measurements.

Cut out burner templates (tiles) from paper. Attach them to the fabric, circle and cut out 4 circles. Instead of fabric, I recommend using felt or any other material that does not require finishing the edges. It's very convenient.

Attach the cut out circles to piece number one. Sew them using a zigzag stitch.

It's time for the oven. To do this, take a fabric in the shape of a dark square. It will serve as “glass” on the door. By the way, instead of dark fabric, you can take a thick, transparent film, then the game will become even more interesting, you can see through it that the food is delicious)). Next, take a piece of square fabric larger than the previous one by 10 centimeters. This will be the oven door itself. Exactly in the middle of it we sew the “glass”. We process the edges of the door. We outline the place where our part will be located on the front of the case, just below the switches.

Sew along the edges of the oven door and the outline on the front of the cover sticky tape. This will be our fastener.

Let's deal with the decor, in particular the window. To do this, cut out the outline of the window on paper and transfer it to part number four. Let's place a blue or light blue cloth under the window to create the illusion of the sky. Let's sew all the parts together.

Sewing curtains is also not difficult. Cut out 2 rectangles and one strip of fabric 4 centimeters wide and a length equal to the width of the back. This will be our cornice. We process its edges. Next we process the edges of the curtains themselves. We collect the upper edge into an accordion and sew it onto the cornice.

Decorate the resulting case with appliqués made of felt, fabric, and sew on several decorative beads or buttons. Then a DIY kitchen for girls will become their favorite toy.

DIY kitchen for a child: photo ideas

If you don't have sewing machine or you just don’t know how to sew, but there are a lot of simple and no less original ideas, which will allow you to make a toy kitchen for children.

First of all, you need to consider the most common and cheapest materials, and this is cardboard. Boxes from household appliances are the best fit for this. Colored tape, paper, markers and glue will make their waste into a wonderful toy for a child.

Cover it with PVC film and it will look like the real thing.))

You can take as a basis wooden boxes or even a stool. Can be drawn, glued from felt and plastic hob and become a chef.

Hooks and hangers attached to the bottom provide excellent storage organization. kitchen utensils. There must be order in everything!

Another option is to cover the workpiece with fabric. This makes the kitchen look beautiful and neat.

Wooden kitchens will already take more time and effort to manufacture. For the base, plywood is suitable, which must be cut into pieces in advance. It is best to plan everything on paper first, and only then do the component parts.

An indispensable attribute of children's games for girls is the presence of a kitchen, dishes and other household items that mothers use. Watching children's games, you can often observe how kids pretend to prepare various dishes. Supporting the desire of children to join household chores, parents are happy to buy toy dishes. But why not please your child and create a kitchen with your own hands in the photo, in which young housewives can feel like chefs to the fullest? Of course, you can purchase a ready-made toy kitchen, which is not always made of high-quality plastic. It is much more interesting and entertaining to build a kitchenette with your own hands, involving a child in the work. In this case, the baby will choose the color herself and tell her what her kitchen should look like.

Material selection

You can use any material to create your own play kitchen. Cardboard, polystyrene foam, drywall, plywood are suitable. The simplest option is a toy made from shoe boxes. Boxes are selected of such a shape and size that they can be used to build the desired design. To make the toy bright, the surface of the boxes can be decorated with self-adhesive or wallpaper. Moreover, to decorate the play kitchen, any finishing materials, remaining after repair. The structure can be decorated plastic panels, corners, edges and even leftovers ceramic tiles. Whatever type of finish is chosen, it is important to choose an adhesive that will reliably stick everything decorative elements. Of course, a full-fledged children's kitchen cannot do without a hob and oven. These elements can be painted with good waterproof paint.

Plywood kitchen

If dad has enough free time, a children's kitchen for his daughter can be built from plywood sheets. Having decided on the dimensions of the structure, first they cut out the blanks from which the kitchenette will be made. To join plywood sheets, use wooden slats and small furniture nails. Having built the base, we move on to fastening the doors. To surprise the baby and give her the opportunity to feel a real mistress, water and light can be supplied to the toy set. It's absolutely not difficult.

To create a water pipeline, you will need:

  • Small faucet.
  • Plastic tube.
  • Bottle.
  • Bowl.
  • Sealant for gluing elements.

We cut out a hole on the top of the structure, the diameter of which should match the dimensions of the bowl. We attach it to the bowl using sealant. plastic construction consisting of a bottle and a hose. We install a crane nearby. Above the improvised sink, it is necessary to build an additional cabinet that will serve as storage for a container of water. By connecting the container to the tap, we get a full-fledged kitchen with running water.

In order to equip the structure with light, you will need 3-4 battery-powered flashlights, which are attached to the top of the headset. For the baby’s convenience, the flashlights need to be connected to each other and connected to a switch located at the child’s level.

The final stage of work is decoration. Furniture can be covered with wallpaper, painted with spray paint and painted on the oven and hob. The set can be supplemented with hooks for towels and potholders.

If you have an unnecessary cupboard in your house that you inherited from your grandmother, you can turn it into a play kitchen for girls. First of all, we adjust the furniture according to the baby’s height. Then, the structure is cleaned and painted. After the paint has dried, we attach hooks to the set, install a sink and equip the structure with light. The working part of the kitchen can be decorated with images of the necessary equipment and other decorative elements.

Necessary little things

To make the girl feel like a real housewife, the children's kitchen should be supplemented various little things. You will definitely need toy dishes, plastic cutlery, washcloths, washed containers from detergents. Also, a playroom can be supplemented with towels, napkins, oven mitts, and an apron. In the process of arrangement, you certainly need to consult with your child. Master class.

Children's toy stove- one of the most relevant and favorite toys for girls. However, I want to note that boys are also partial to this attribute adult life: Every day watching mom do something in her culinary kingdom, any baby is interested in doing the same.

The cooker is designed for role-playing games, both indoors and outdoors, for children 3-4 years old and older, for example: “Mothers and Daughters”, “Cook”. Etc.

In order to make a children's kitchen with our own hands, we will need the following items:

Carton;

Plastic bottles with caps;

Self-adhesive decorative film;

Double-sided adhesive tape;

Scissors;

Stationery knife;

Plastic lids for mayonnaise jars.

You can replace some elements - whatever your imagination desires!

Execution steps:

1. First, decide on the box, its size and color. I took a plain box. We make sure that plastic bottles fit freely into the box to the base of the neck, if not, then cut it from below so that it fits. The neck should stick out from the box. For what? These will be knobs that regulate the heating power of the burners.

2. Using a ruler, find the center on the front wall of the box and make two holes at the same distance from this center along the diameter of the neck of the bottle.

3. Then we insert our bottles into the holes of the box so that the neck sticks out. We put bottle caps on the protruding bottle necks and screw them on.

4. Paste over plastic caps from under mayonnaise with self-adhesive film.

5. Top on double sided tape, at the same distance from the center of the box

Glue on the mayonnaise lids to create hotplates.

6. Then, using a marker, draw the burners and handles of the stove.

That's it!

We stand together for a whole hour and look into the miracle reservoir. Both the ocean and the sea are here, His name is AQUARIUM. If fish spoke, they could tell.

I love the competitions and exhibitions that are held in our kindergarten and I always take part in them with pleasure, because this is what a competition is.

Children really like it when guests come to classes: dolls, bear cubs, dogs and other ordinary or fairy-tale heroes. When tasks and requests.

“Near Lukomorye there is a green oak tree, A golden chain on that oak tree...” Who has not heard these words of the Great Russian poet as a child? There probably won't be any.

Multifunctional manuals can be made with your own hands even by those who do not have special talents and practical skills. Yes, for games and activities.

Dear colleagues! Very often it happens that at a holiday party or entertainment you don’t know how to dress this or that character. Not enough.

If you ask children and adults what characters they associate the holiday with New Year, then many of them will name the Snowman. Snowman -.

Every parent cares about satisfying the desires of their child and providing him with a comfortable and warm atmosphere. And what is best for this? Certainly! All different play areas, where children can throw out all their imagination and fantasy! What do little girls love to play so much? Why, they just love to copy their mother’s behavior! Namely: cooking and raising your toy children! So give your child small kitchen! By the way, it is not necessary to spend huge amount funds to meet the baby's needs! After all, you can do all this with your own hands from scrap materials! Let's quickly take a look at our selection - a children's kitchen made from boxes with your own hands!

First, arrange all the boxes in the right order!

Making a children's kitchen out of boxes is easier than it might seem at first glance! The main thing is to think in advance about where and what you will have.

Choose cardboard boxes different sizes, the main thing is that they are of the same level, with the exception of the “refrigerator”. Cardboard boxes must also be suitable for the height of your baby.

Make cabinet doors

We draw doors on our boxes with a pencil and carefully cut out the contours with a stationery knife. By the way, so that the cardboard doors are not constantly in open position, consider the type of lock you will use for the drawers.

Decorating the kitchen

Since cardboard boxes look quite boring, prepare bright colors! By the way, we offer you two decoration options. First - acrylic paints. They are quite easy to apply small patterns and motifs. The second one is colored adhesive tape. With this tape you can easily cover all the cabinets in the children's kitchen.

Accessories and devices

Since mom’s kitchen is full of all kinds of kitchen utensils, your baby will probably want something similar in his children’s kitchen! We already have a microwave and refrigerator! Now you need to add small kitchen utensils. Place plastic plates, ladles, spatulas in small cabinets and add decor to your taste and color!

Children's kitchen made of cardboard with sink

Have you already noticed our sink? It's just an unnecessary iron cup and a pipe from liquid soap! You can use, for example, an old baking sheet. And as a wall apron you can use a picture or a sticker, in general, anything that comes to your mind.

Buttons

You can simply print and glue the original buttons and glass for microwave oven. If you like creativity, then draw small details with your own hands. Add some decorations in the form of artificial flowers, paintings and enjoy your child's happy smile!

Excellent play area!

An example of a children's kitchen made from boxes was built into the mother's kitchen. If you don't have enough space, then you can of course choose your own option. A children's room would also be an excellent location.

    THANK YOU so much for the very useful information in the article. Everything is presented very clearly. It feels like a lot of work has been done to analyze the operation of the eBay store

    • Thank you and other regular readers of my blog. Without you, I would not be motivated enough to dedicate much time to maintaining this site. My brain is structured this way: I like to dig deep, systematize scattered data, try things that no one has done before or looked at from this angle. It’s a pity that our compatriots have no time for shopping on eBay because of the crisis in Russia. They buy from Aliexpress from China, since goods there are much cheaper (often at the expense of quality). But online auctions eBay, Amazon, ETSY will easily give the Chinese a head start in the range of branded items, vintage items, handmade items and various ethnic goods.

        What is valuable in your articles is your personal attitude and analysis of the topic. Don't give up this blog, I come here often. There should be a lot of us like that. Email me I recently received an email with an offer that they would teach me how to trade on Amazon and eBay. And I remembered your detailed articles about these trades. area I re-read everything again and concluded that the courses are a scam. I haven't bought anything on eBay yet. I am not from Russia, but from Kazakhstan (Almaty). But we also don’t need any extra expenses yet. I wish you good luck and stay safe in Asia.

  • It’s also nice that eBay’s attempts to Russify the interface for users from Russia and the CIS countries have begun to bear fruit. After all, the overwhelming majority of citizens of the countries of the former USSR do not have strong knowledge of foreign languages. No more than 5% of the population speak English. There are more among young people. Therefore, at least the interface is in Russian - this is a big help for online shopping on this trading platform. eBay did not follow the path of its Chinese counterpart Aliexpress, where a machine (very clumsy and incomprehensible, sometimes causing laughter) translation of product descriptions is performed. I hope that at a more advanced stage of development of artificial intelligence, high-quality machine translation from any language to any in a matter of seconds will become a reality. So far we have this (the profile of one of the sellers on eBay with a Russian interface, but an English description):
