Content of biologically active substances and parts used

●B folk medicine For medicinal purposes, flower baskets with upper stems are used, which contain about 0.04% essential oil, flavonoids (luteolin, apigenin, etc.), sitosterol, organic and fatty acids, sterolin, carotenoids, vitamins, mucus, sulfates and potassium chlorides , manganese, iron; tannins and bitter substances, flavonols (kaempferol, quercetin), flavonones (naringenin) and their derivatives (helychrysin A and B).

● The tops of the plant with inflorescences are usually collected when they have fully bloomed and acquired a bitter taste; At the same time, sandy immortelle produces a characteristic aroma.

Used by preparing fresh infusions and decoctions of dried flowers, alcohol tincture and powder. It is also used to produce essential oil, which is part of various creams and gels used in cosmetics.

Preparation. It is advisable to collect inflorescences at the beginning of flowering, before the side baskets open. With more late collection As a result of the opening of the baskets during drying, the flowers fall off greatly, and the raw material contains a large number of bare axes of inflorescences with wrappers. Inflorescences along with peduncles up to 1 cm long are cut with scissors or a knife.

Security measures. In the same area, inflorescences can be collected up to 3-4 times as the plants begin to bloom. Re-collection – after 5-7 days. You cannot tear off inflorescences from stems or pull out plants with roots. It is advisable to carry out repeated harvesting on specific areas after 1-2 years, in which case it is necessary to leave 1-2 per 1 m2 flowering plants to ensure seed regeneration.

Sandy immortelle is widely cultivated in specialized farms. Harvesting of inflorescences is mechanized.

Drying. In cool rooms with good ventilation, the raw materials are laid out in a layer of 2-3 cm on paper or fabric; stirring is not allowed. It is not recommended to dry raw materials in warm rooms and in the attics iron roof, since this leads to a large number scree. Dryers can be used to dry at temperatures not exceeding 40 ºС.

Standardization. GF XI, issue. 2, art. 9, Changes No. 1, 2.

Storage. In a dark, well-ventilated area. In warehouses - in bags, in pharmacies - in boxes or cans. The shelf life of raw materials is 4 years.

Repeated collection is carried out after 5-7 days. The collected raw materials are dried in the shade in a well-ventilated area, spread out in a layer of up to 1-2 cm; in the sun the flowers become discolored. Dried raw materials are stored in a dark place. The finished immortelle raw material consists of whole spherical baskets with a diameter of about 7 mm, of numerous tubular flowers, lemon yellow or orange, located on a bare receptacle; the involucre leaves are dry, filmy, shiny, lemon-yellow in color. THANK YOU so much for the very useful information in the article. Everything is presented very clearly. It feels like a lot of work has been done to analyze the operation of the eBay store

    • Thank you and other regular readers of my blog. Without you, I would not have been motivated enough to dedicate much time to maintaining this site. My brain is structured this way: I like to dig deep, systematize scattered data, try things that no one has done before or looked at from this angle. It’s a pity that our compatriots have no time for shopping on eBay because of the crisis in Russia. They buy from Aliexpress from China, since goods there are much cheaper (often at the expense of quality). But online auctions eBay, Amazon, ETSY will easily give the Chinese a head start in the range of branded items, vintage items, handmade items and various ethnic goods.

What is valuable in your articles is your personal attitude and analysis of the topic. Don't give up this blog, I come here often. There should be a lot of us like that. Email me I recently received an email with an offer that they would teach me how to trade on Amazon and eBay. And I remembered your detailed articles about these trades. area I re-read everything again and concluded that the courses are a scam. I haven't bought anything on eBay yet. I am not from Russia, but from Kazakhstan (Almaty). But we also don’t need any extra expenses yet. I wish you good luck and stay safe in Asia.

  • It’s also nice that eBay’s attempts to Russify the interface for users from Russia and the CIS countries have begun to bear fruit. After all, the overwhelming majority of citizens of the countries of the former USSR do not have strong knowledge of foreign languages. No more than 5% of the population speak English. There are more among young people. Therefore, at least the interface is in Russian - this is a big help for online shopping on this trading platform. eBay did not follow the path of its Chinese counterpart Aliexpress, where a machine (very clumsy and incomprehensible, sometimes causing laughter) translation of product descriptions is performed. I hope that at a more advanced stage of development of artificial intelligence, high-quality machine translation from any language to any in a matter of seconds will become a reality. So far we have this (the profile of one of the sellers on eBay with a Russian interface, but an English description):
